Quite a few variables to consider. Different people have different mileage. For me for example, the speeds are only slightly better than the SISO AV2 homeplugs, and my best speed is not via homeplugs but wireless bridging with 2 AC87 routers.

Wireless bridge is the bottleneck....

I bought the 1800mbps homeplug two days ago but doesn't seems to deliver the performance and i can't troubleshoot without the utility.

Currently using Singtel fiber broadband @ 300Mbps. Previously using LAN cable the speed im having is @ 260~300+ Mbps download and 300+ Mbps upload speeds.

After using the homeplug (both on wall plug & different location), the download speed is at 130~150Mbps / 200~240 upload speed.
There is too much difference between the upload and download speed. Is this normal?

I've tested again using the wall plug in same location, side by side, the max download speed i got is 180Mbps and 340Mbps upload. It never hit pass 200Mbps download and the difference between the download and upload is too big. It does seems to be running like a 600Mbps homeplug for the download speed.
Am i doing something wrong?

Darshu,

When your download speed is lower than your upload speed, the remote location where your pc is connected to your wall socket is probably the cause due to the line condition and the noise attenuation factor of that remote location.

Try to relocate the plug that is connected to your PC to a different wall socket. The Plug that is connected to your router on that designated socket is healthy as your upload speed is way higher.

PM me your contact number and we will send our staff to your residence today to assist you and diagnose the stretch of powerlines.

Hi! Thanks for the quick reply.

I did mention that i've tried to place them side by side next to a room with two wall power plug, therefore its the shortest possible route between them and there is no other devices drawing power from it. The results is 180Mbps dl (max) and 340Mpbs ul speed.
Also tried another way by using the multisocket power plug and place them together, the result is similar.
Even swapping them in the way its connected to my PC and router doesn't change the results. The download speed is way below the upload speed, at almost half the speed.

Btw, your stored private messages quota is full, i can't pm you.

I also have a few similar encounter ....

Download left 40Mbps while upload way above 150Mbps ...

I am on 200Mbps plan ....

The LED showing all GREEN for both end .

And no utility to test the Plug to Plug speed.... :(

What I usually do if I encounter slow is that I unplug both end and plug back ....

Kindly PM me so that I can schedule an onsite visit to your residence.

We encounter an incident with a consumer that is similar to what you have encountered. It was an appliance within the home that is affecting the downfall of the download speed. He manage to isolate the problem by identifying some potential appliances and it was the air purifier. He turned it off and everything went well.

If you are placing side by side and yet your download speed is lower than your upload, there might be an appliance that could have triggered this as it is drawing a load across the powerlines.

Nevertheless, I will schedule a visit to your residence to check it out.

May I schedule our staff to come over this evening to take a look at it ?

Every home electrical wiring varies, how they are laid across from one to another and how they are run. Every socket may exhibit different results too.

There is a downlink and uplink. Physically you may see that the distance is short from one socket to another but, they could be running in cycles which you will never know. Somewhere in between your lines is causing this to happen. Even switching on your water heater may cause your speed to fall.

The sineoji 1800 mbps plug is used on 4 different locations in the house and the lowest speed obtained is 250 Mbps and the highest is 300 Mbps on downloads, this is on a M1 300 Mbps fibre.

Hi Sineoji,

I'm very impressed that your service is to this level. I have 5 Aztech HomePlugs now. I have recently upgraded from 100 Mbps to a 1 Gbps broadband and am looking at changing all my HPs. My master HP is near my door as I did not want to lay the fiber cable all the way to my room.

My current setup is as follows.

Near my door - ONT - Router (Asus AC68U) - [A] HomePlug with Pass through (500 Mbps)
- Living Room, WiFi HomePlug (200 Mbps)
[C] - Bedroom #1, HomePlug with Pass through (500 Mbps) - Gigbit network hub with 3 PCs connected to it.
[D] - Bedroom #2, HomePlug with Pass through (500 Mbps) - Connected to 1 PC.
[E] - Bedroom #3, WiFi HomePlug (200 Mbps)

What would be the most efficient way to setup to get maximum speed?

Only challenge is that there is only 1 wall plug near my door and I need to plug in 2 power source. ONT and the Router. Can the HomePlug function reasonably on an extension cord or a 3 way plug?

Dear Kevintan12,

Our support has visited your residence this morning and carried out multiple test on the PL1800E running on your current infrastructure. Your speed test was 201 Mbps download and 254 mbps upload from the main door to the bedroom. Hope this helps to give you a better idea moving forward.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further assistance.

Hi Senoji, I'm contemplating to buy your 1800 to replace Aztech's 1000 (I got rid of a pair and still have 1 unit left). My question is will your 1800 be able to pair with the 1000 from Aztech? If I'm not wrong, their model is HL280E. I just need 3 units. Buying 2 pairs seem wasteful. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response and WOW what a great support. A+ for effort. Well done. Will PM you in a sec. If the test is good, will you be bringing a new pair for sale on site?

Thank you for your visit. Much appreciated. The result you provided is with the computer and fan turned OFF. For the same computer located in the main computer room, I provide below three varied results (download/upload) for three different hardware/connectivity (with the computer and fan turned ON) :

1) Sineoji 1800 = 220+/230+ mbps

http://1drv.ms/1s6p462

2) Asus USB Wireless-AC1200 = 250+/240+ mbps

http://1drv.ms/1EJGPir

3) Direct connection from Apple router in the hall via long (and messy) UTP cable = 940+/470+ mbps

http://1drv.ms/1s6p9Xr

It goes without saying and sadly, that the power line method is not a good/improved option for my infrastructure. I CANNOT not have the computer on as it defeat the purpose and I CANNOT not have the fan on with the weather like in SG ;) . It was worse in the TV room with only 100+ mbps download. On the positive note, the Seneoji 1800 churned much better results than the Aztech 1000 that I've used previously.

i did buy 3 weeks ago pair of Sineoji adapters. Speed is so-so though significantly better then previous AV500 adapters (between my router/internet access close to 100mbit/sec where previously i was getting 60mbit max).
it is pitty that utility is missing though shouldve been there with the launch ... i do hope when it does come out it might allow for some tweakability to improve performance

my 2 cents :D

Dear Gaha,

The utility does not provide any tweaking on the PL1800E. It is only design for changing the homeplug workgroup name and checking the link speed.

ah ok then :( i was hoping for some QOS settings or channel changes so i could try and tweak and get better results :)

House has 2 levels and 2 points that I am connecting are both going to the central point (and back) so that is why I get poor speeds .... but between 2 points in the same room (though both are going to the same 'central' place) i was getting 200mbps which was cool.

thanks for your support !

ps. my issue was not poor internet speed ... web pages dont open 5 times faster if one gets 30 or 200mbps ... downloads / torrents do go faster that is true ... but im pleased with my lan/server/downloader sucking at 60mbps+ instead of 30mpbs+... my key objective with Sineoji was to connect another PC for moving movie files and backing up. either way, though disappointed a bit, i dont think one can do better today then with Sineoji PL1800E ;)
