So will keep this short.I was 20 and have completed my studies.Went for the medical checkup months later.MO referred me to SGH because i have asthma. For over a year since then,i have been coming in and out of medical appointments. Two weeks ago,i just got medically cleared from the doctor in SGH -finally-.Told me i have to give the medical report from the doctor back to CMPB.MO says i have to wait at least a month and go online thru the NS portal for the final outcome on my PES status.Currently i am graded PES D.I am 23 now and not even in the starting stages for the 2 year NS yet.Has anyone experienced this sort of situation before? This whole process alone is taking up over 2 years of my life and could have been halfway done NS by now.

The question is now whether if you rush/chase them?

I can attest to the MP effect!

Indicate that you intend to approach your MP.

They will jump through circles of fire... :spin:

I once had a months long, drawn out issue with a SAF100 notice, e-mails and calls all going nowhere.

I replied my last email with "My MP will be hearing about this issue at the next MPS."

2 days later, a colonel called up to apologise.

i was wondering if there is any service time frame audit. if there is, how effective?

it is really saddening to hear that pre-enlistees has to highlight about bringing it up to their MPs so that the relevant enlistment department will not delay their enlistment period.

saving of manpower should not be a reason affecting the earliest possible enlistment period for pre-enlistees. i wonder if NPTD are actually interested in such an issue.

So are you implying that pre-enlistees such as myself are facing this issue as well?.I wasn't so concerned a few years ago because delaying NS means i have more time to do other things like work. Not really excited about NS one bit really. Now i am worried because of my age and the 2 years that i will be spending for NS.By the time i ORD'ed,i may be 26 when most of my NS buddies would be 6 years younger than me.I really want to quickly enlist so i can finish the 2 years and get over with.I live in Aljunied.Which MP do i have to seek assistance about my issue?.Can my MP really help my chances of getting enlisted sooner despite my pending medical review?.Do note that i have not been medically cleared yet.No clearance=no NS enlistment i think.Have also called up CMPB saying that once medical done i have to wait for the enlistment letter -god knows how long-.Once received letter,it will state the date of enlistment which is in another few months time depending on what vocation i will be posted to.Sincerely asking for help here. Thanks all!

Go and Google "who is my mp" to know who's your MP for your area.

Well, about its effectiveness; I went to visit MP on Monday and received my letter on Thursday. I have a similar case as you; afraid to be trapped in the PES D limbo for too long.

You are definitely not alone.

If you think properly, you would have concluded that you will want to get NS out of the way as early as possible.

Spoonfeed you a bit.... http://www.parliament.gov.sg/whos-my-mp

It's more like at this stage, knowing whether can or not is secondary, it's more like you never try you never know.

Yes. That's why you see MP so that they can go use their "appointment" to go demand a response.

It's not always a few months. Can be a feel weeks.

If you didn't chase/rush them in the past, then you've only yourself to blame for this.

my pes was delayed as well for well over half a year.. didn't throw the MP card but complained to one of my relatives who is quite up there in the army.. still took more than half a year though, so it's best if you go see MP about it.
