bro whats ur hd800 serial number? 20000+?

cuz i bought mine quite early in 2010. i heard the newer hd800s have their sound signature slightly changed.

Hi bro.
Mine is 33245.
I received the graph plot.
The 5k to 6k peak they smoothen it liao. As compared to early batches.
Let me find the imgur first and show you.

have been wondering is the rumored "fixing" really true? below is mine, s/n before the supposed fixed 2xxxx onwards. isn't it flatter across 5-6k?

Yes. Just look it mine

I dont know about all these technical stuffs on the equalizer so pardon me. But the newer hd800s that ive heard sounds slightly flatter, and lower. Which is good cuz the the older hd800s are blamed for being a little bright.

Hooted this from a bro in the blue forum, enjoying some DSD music I'd downloaded, with the help of my iFi Micro iDSD.....those two free tracks sound damn.....different sia, but in a good way. The HD800 has some rather minor cosmetic defects, but given I want it for the sound, ain't a biggie for me.

Edit - This was an earlier hootz, just before I'd gotten the iFi Micro iDSD which drives this badboy very easily.

Nice purchase bro. HD800 is a very solid headphone.

the idsd micro , do you use normal or turbo mode ?

Normal mode i hardly need to go beyond 12 o'clock on HD800.

Bought the iusbpower and ifi cables to complement my existing iDSD micro.

Must say it really brought the clarity/level of detail/quality of bass/detail separation to another level. Ensures minimum noise & interference as well. No regrets.

We have very, very similar setups sia!:D We can agree that the sound reproduction for this combo is breath taking, yet when I'd said I was going to get the Micro iDSD to act as DAC/AMP, I was criticized by a member in a foreign forum. Others were ambivalent, but this guy recommended a Schiit Magni/Modi combo which I'd considered, but seeing how advanced the iFi Micro iDSD is, I went for it. He let me know that I was being a sheep listening to guys over at HeadFi.

No regrets though, the sound is simply to die for, turned me to an audio guy overnight!:D Peeps talk admiringly of the soundstage of the HD800, I'd always gone, 'So?' Now, I'm a convert, it's simply damn open, with great length and depth. I have already expended many hours simply sitting on my chair lost in the music.....I've never done that before, simply sitting and listening for hours on end. Gosh, I'm gushing, ain't I?:o

Edit - BTW, I'll be getting a pair of Omega stands as well as a couple of metal ones for all my cans. Just struck a deal to buy a Beyerdynamic DT990 600 Ohms to replace my HyperX Cloud headset as my go to gaming cans, replacing all my audio gear with higher quality cans and DAC/AMP where necessary.

Oh yeah, I run my Micro iDSD at 'Normal' mode, volume is usually at about the 10 o'clock mark as I find if I were to go higher, it'd be too loud for me. I did try a couple of free DSF files, the sound reproduction is just next level stuff. You should give it a try...
