Sold out le... rushed down to JP to recontract 128gb... v little stock available...

Yes must be quick! Those who want to get an iPhone must monitor SingTel iPhone Stock Status page between 4pm to 5pm. They often stock their stores around this time.

Heard the stock board not accurate de. Must go ask the staff in the shop rite?

Yup. Sometimes restock quantity is so low that they won't even bother to change the status. No point having a few pieces only and stick the 'available' sticker only to remove it after a minute.

*Twiddling thumbs -- waiting for all the 6+ 16GB units to be sold out so we can get some larger capacity ones being made available.

Anyone knows exactly what's the difference between heading down to Singtel shops to recontract and recontracting online using singtelshop.com? Getting ABIT confused here, would appreciate if someone do a pros and cons comparison for me! Thanks!

If you go to SingTel Shop, everything is done for you in terms of fixing up your phone (except for restoring data), and activating your new sim card (if needed).
If you buy online, you need to fix everything up by yourself. You also need to call SingTel 1688 to have them activate your new sim (if you are not already using nano sim).

This is true... Just wanted to share my experience here...

I got my iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Gold last Saturday 8 November 2014 at Singtel Hello Shop in Tampines Mall. The shop opens at 10:30am, so I was there about 10:00am to try my luck. There was already a queue forming outside the Hello Shop, so I joined it.

My friend who was with me went to the front of the shop to look at the stock availability board after a staff went to update it before the opening and it still showed "Not Available" for the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Gold. We continued to queue nonetheless (Already spent a good 20 plus minutes in the queue).

The shop finally opened at 10:30am sharp, and staff were lined up at the reception area. They then took customers in the queue to the respective stations.

When it was my turn (I was about 5th in the queue), I asked if they have stock for iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Gold. A guy who was wearing a blue business shirt (not sure if he was the manager there) assigned a staff to attend to me without directly answering my question. So the guy ushered me to a station with a computer and asked what I needed. I told him I wanted to recontract and get the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Gold. He said there are no stocks available. I told him that the guy in blue advised me that they have, and insisted he go in to his stock room to check.

He came out with the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Gold box after 5 minutes. There and then, I went ahead to recontract.

After all that, I asked him how many sets they had, he said they only had 2 units on that day. When I questioned why they didn't update the board when they had 2 units (its a silly question I know) he told me that they didn't want customers to start taking queue numbers because most of them would go home empty handed.

For those still waiting, I suggest you can try to queue slightly before the shops open. You can try to queue at the larger stores (like Tampines Mall). I tried once at Bedok Mall and was given a small tip by the staff to try the larger stores.

Hope this helps!

Yes, they had stocks for 6+ 64gb gold last week for short periods. For some of us holding out for the 128gb models, and other color options, this might be a futile exercise as your chance is very low trying to visit a hello store on a regular basis. The problem is worldwide stocks are so low due to apple's manufacturer Foxconn not being able to keep up with the 6+ demand. Good news is that they have got another company to do their supplementary manufacturing and we might see the 128gb stocks come up before Christmas. It sucks because my plan is up for renewal and I would hate to delay it any further.

Alright thanks bro! But now there's something I'm really confused about regarding the usage of mobile vouchers on singtelshop.com
My mum had a voucher of $50 given by the "advertising department" because her phone was available for recontract.
Somehow when I was trying to RECONTRACT online, Singtel cust care gave me a call and told me my $50 voucher cannot be used online.

I kinda told them off because the $50 voucher was already reflected in the singtelshop under the discounts section, and there's no reason why I cannot use it. I simply proceeded with the recontract and at the check out page I had to pay $50 lesser for the phone.

However I have another phone that has $110 voucher which I requested for... It's currently on hold and not activated yet because i don't know when the stocks will be arriving at the stores. I wanted to activate it and use it online and they claimed that I cannot use it online.

So I'm wondering maybe I just proceeded to activate it, it will be reflected in the system as well. Can someone advice me on what to do, or at least tell me how do I get them to approve the voucher to be used online because I'm sick of waiting for the stocks to be in store?

At least from what I see, online shop has more stocks and less hassle compared to making plenty of trips to the store and returning empty handed.

Same boat, delaying the current contract further will affect the subsequent recontact :s27::s27::s27::s27::s27:
