I just received a targeted promo.

I don't think I will hit the qualifying threshold of minimum S$2k equivalent in FCY per month. But registered anyways.

The bonus points for the expedia promotion is in. I charged in Oct using my rewards card and saw the bonus points this morning. My PM transaction bonus miles are not in yet though.

mine wasn't in yet, thought its coming end of this month?

min $5k for me, not going to spend that much. seems like it is aim according to your monthly spend

Need to register first. :)

Btw, if i want to get economy ticket to Europe (but i'm using the cash rebate option instead of FFP), all I need to do is to call Citibank to convert my citimiles to cash rebate (eg: convert to $1000 worth). Then book any flight tickets (lets say $1100).

My next bill they should offset $1000 and I pay $100.

I know cash back rate is low at 1.2% but it is the better option for economy ticket.

This is correct

Received a birthday package from Citibank PremierMiles.

Came with some discount vouchers. Local dining on my birthday month (this month) will earn 2.5miles/$ instead of the normal 1.2miles/$.

Hotel and wedding dining excluded.

Be very careful about these, a year ago they sent my dad a mailer for a 10% cashback "birthday present" (capped at $100) which was never credited, after making the required spend. When called to demand it - they initially said that it will be reflected 6-8 weeks later. A number of months later they denied any knowledge of it and in addition, denied even sending the mailer. Best part was that the mailer was lost, so it became their word against ours.:mad:

On the other hand they offered my mom 20% cashback for supermarket purchases (also capped at $100). Learnt from our mistake - made the required spend and kept the mailer. Strangely that one was credited automatically without any action required.

So if you want to be safe, keep the promotional material/mailer your receive until your bonus is safely in.

Since Kaligo gives 10 citiPM miles (=10 Avios) per SGD spent, you will need to spend SGD300 to reach 3K bonus.
Comparing with Expedia/Agoda that gives 6 miles, Kaligo cannot afford to be more than slightly more expensive than them to be worth using

But there is another way to reach the 3K bonus miles with without having even to spend SGD300. If you are looking to book an inexpensive hotel for a very short stay, even taking into account its high prices, Kaligo UK may be worth a shot
method here

Because you receive a one-off 3K bonus Avios for any paid hotel booking of any number of nights, on top of the usual earning rate, it may negate the additional cost provided you make the stay as short as possible
(The bonus amount is 10k Avios if your first booking is over £999, not relevant for most of us though)

Eg Given my Avios burning pattern, I value each SGD0.017, so I'm happy to pay up to SGD40-ish more for a night using Kaligo service as compared to somewhere else. Since you can only receive the bonus once, can just book one night here, grab the bonus, and the book the rest of your nights via a cheaper agent

NB: BAEC is the right programme for my flying patterns. Obviously your favourite FFP may vary, research before you take the plunge :)

I guess you fly to LHR at least twice a year?

BAEC needs 4 flight segments on BA Metal in order to qualify for elite status, so isn't for everybody I guess.

Yah. I usually keep all promotional stuff from whichever bank until the gift/rebate/points are given. Serves as a proof as well as reminder to myself of these promotions i took part in.
