Thanks for your reply. I wasn't expecting to do a signup for VQ as our fibre broadband subscription with MR will expire only in Mar 2015.

However, reading that it may take almost 3 mths (worst case) for NLT to activate 2nd fibre port, cause me to react now, unfortunately.

You can opt to do a fiber takeover in which case we'll take over from your MR connection on the same day. If you'd like to take this option, just let our CS know upon signup and they will help to do the necessary arrangements :)

3 months!!?? Darn.

depends on NLT availability on their manpower to activate ur TP 2nd port. Sometimes slower or faster. The waiting time is mainly for NLT. U can ask around whoever had change fibre ISP b4( ST to M1, SH to ST, M1 to VQ...etc). Once 2nd port is activated, the ISP won't take long for appt for installation. Eg. VQ only takes 1-2 days to make appt with me to install the zhone router at my premise.

Well, my advise is u can sign up with VQ 1st n wait at the same time for ur MR contract end. Tats wat I done too when I sign with VQ in July n my ST contracts end in Oct. (Just nice for my 2nd port to be activated!!) After tat, I call up ST n terminated my service with them.

Hi,

Anyone had used Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite and has the configuration file for Viewqwest usage? Mind sharing it with me? I just signed up for Viewqwest but am very new to ERL, so just hope to get everything right before the installation. Thanks in advance for any help!

There is a generic configuration template created specifically for ViewQwest connection in the Fibernet forum (under subscribers-only section). It may be out-dated as the configuration was done using firmware 1.3 but it should be generic enough to start you off.

Otherwise, use the 1WAN Wizard in EdgeOS 1.4 onwards.

Update 12/01/2014 - Beta Release - Build 3123

Beta Release - Build 3123

1. This is not on the support site and servers for auto update.
2. Download here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw2xQ5benV_uZ25FTlFiOFlXVjg/view?usp=sharing

3. Short Fix List
Fixes:
1.TrendMicro Engine updated to fix log issues
2. Numerous bug fixes and performance improvements

Update

1.Expect public release shortly after qualification testing completes.
2.Another public release in early Q1 with new Quantenna driver updates.

5GHz AC-87U users that are having issues with their 5GHz are encouraged to update to this beta firmware and give it a try to see whether they are still impacted by the 5GHz numerous issues (weird 5GHz disconnection/reconnection, 5GHz remain connected but no Internet access, dropouts, subpar 5GHz performance etc) or there is a reduction of issues occurrence.

ASUS TW are fully aware of the 5GHz issues but not everyone that uses an ASUS RT-AC87U on 5GHz experiences issues with it. RMerlin and I didn't experienced these on various devices/mobile devices that we have/owned.

Some of the devices

1). IPhone 5/5S/6/6+
2). Sony Xperia Z1/Z2/Z3
3). Apple IMac
4). Apple Macbook Pro/Air
5). Nexus/Nexus 2013
6). ASUS PCE-AC68
7). ASUS USB-AC56
8). ASUS EA-AC87

And the list goes on.

Nevertheless ASUS are working hard to iron-out the possible 5GHz scenarios bug issues with Quantenna and Broadcom as well to complete their own internal qualification tests on 5GHz.

Lastly this beta firmware is based on the latest Broadcom SDK7 hence 378.xxxx firmware instead the usual Broadcom SDK6 (376.xxxx).

VQ, my ZNID-GPON-2426-UK is currently showing Firmware v. S3.0.110 & the Zhone support download page is showing latest as 3.0.546.

Are we allowed to update the FW ourselves? Or is this something that VQ tech will need to remotely do for me?

Do you know what are the improvements I can get and some of the dangers I should be aware of?

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm not wanting to do it either.

But I've been having some game server issues that VQ is trying to resolve with the server owners but it's been almost a week with no resolution yet.

Just wondering if an FW upgrade is a possible solution.

We do have newer firmware. Please ask NOC to update for you if you are interested in trying it out.

Though I can't say for sure it will fix your specific issue.

Your current RSP needs to be aware that you are going to do an FTO.

If you are currently on contract with your current RSP (or if they are just being annoying) they can reject the FTO request, which will screw up the process royally.
