getting a bit lazy to browse through thousands of viewqwest posts.. too popular la aiyo. haha

so quick question on improvements:
- Any progress on using xunlei 迅雷? my side still nothing (unless i allow helpdesk to change my ip that will mean 1 day of downtime)
- android box upgrade? dying for a 5.1 output upgrade at least... my home theatre going to be moldy white elephant liao.

kthxbye :s22:

My first post on this forum...Please be nice :)

After reading all you guys comments decided to sign up for the 600Mbps option last night...that was until this morning until I realised my mail bounced back
(First lesson - Read Viewqwest not Viewquest)

So anyway resent the request this morning so still hope all OK

As I am new to Singapore and condo life - Will not move into Tresalveo condo until a few weeks, I think I also made a mistake on the application form in terms of paying for the fibre termination fee - If the fibre is terminated to the actual unit itself, I don't need to pay this fee right ?

Glad to meet you guys

I believe for the application form wise, the CS staff should call you to double confirm before submitting your order via the ON/NLT portal. They should be.. er.. alert enough to see if your home is already home-reached and no longer require TP installation ba? :s13::s13: But to be safe, probably just PM NicBlais with your postal code and unit number so he can get them to take note of it before submission via ON/NLT portal.

Hi there!

Hmm apologies for the oversight - if you'd like to request for it please e-mail sales@viewqwest.com there are probably some earlier slots still open :)

Hi guys,

Apologies i made a mistake on fibre take overs - apparently the takeover can be done on the same day now so in most cases so downtime is actually quite minimal. So if you'd rather go this route i think it might be faster than waiting for NLT to fix the 2nd port issues :)

I had a long chat with MR CSO. Apparently, they strongly dont encourage takeover on the same day.

For my case, they are quite adamant that if I schedule the termination on the same day as VQ activation, they are quite sure it cannot be done.

So I LL, scheduled the termination a few days before, live with downtime of 5 days before VQ comes along to fix up the connection.

hmm so now things look a little confusing, can nic clarify please? frankly, i don't see why termination and reconnection needs such a long downtime.... is there some major technical issue at the backend that must occur for it to happen? I don't think there are any physical work process to occur for this to happen... just a matter of switching settings etc?

In case you are not aware, there IS physical work in the backend. NetLink Trust need to patch the fibre in the CO (aka Exchange) from one RSP to another RSP, hence at the mercy of NLT. :s13:

Hmmm you're right it doesn't need to be so complicated - basically the usual process is as follows.

Once you've applied with us - we will approach NLT and request for a takeover of the port.

At this point NLT will check with the existing ISP to see if everything is in order (the customer must let their existing ISP know they want to terminate and make any arrangements to do the necessary there).

Once that has been confirmed - NLT will arrange for a patching date whereby they will switch the port over from the old ISP to the new one (they do not need to go inside your house for this). Once that's been done, our line is activated and a few hours later (one day at the most) our guys will go to your house for the installation.

e-store only stocks Mikrotik CCR-1009-8G-1S.

Is it possible to get the CCR-1009-8G-1S-1S+?

I see some bros using the 1S+ model here. Are these self imported?

I can forward this request to the e-store team - no promises on whether they'll be able to stock it though :D

It does sound like they purposely did so to cause delay to you since you are no longer their customer. Should have check with them if sign up their plan and terminate other isp can it be done on the same day. The answer will be more accurate.

Hi,

Anyone had used Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite and has the configuration file for Viewqwest usage? Mind sharing it with me? I just signed up for Viewqwest but am very new to ERL, so just hope to get everything right before the installation. Thanks in advance for any help!

All stocks are from Alagas Network:
https://store.alagasnetwork.sg/wired/router/mtik-ccr1009-8g-1s-1s.html

If you are strongly interested in this model we can add it to the store. Pricing should be exactly $100 more than the non-S+ model.

You can just use the 1WAN wizard available from firmware 1.4 onwards, which will create the necessary DHCP WAN.

After that just call or email NOC and they will be able to detect the MAC address on their end and update the WAN IP record accordingly.

Thanks Andrew! So I will use DHCP for the connection port to whatever router Viewqwest gave. Actually my installation will only be done this friday. Will call NOC when the installation is up then. :)

Well my first impression of Viewqwest customer service is...pretty damn good

The lady that called me was very helpful, polite and took care of my issue with fibre termination point, and installation dates without a problem

I'm very pleased so far - Great service

Please PM NicBlais or myself with the subscriber name as well as contact info (email and phone) - I realized in some cases that there were typos in phone number and such.

We can put you in contact ASAP. Usually an appointment date is already proposed so not to worry you are not disadvantaged by not being contacted earlier.

During signup i was told by your cso to keep my existing isp till vq connection is up, so should i call in to inform them i want to terminate? Any issues if i don't inform them first?

Hi all,

Signed up too. Running Singtel at the moment. Should I terminate it prior to installation?

Cheers
