We do have newer firmware. Please ask NOC to update for you if you are interested in trying it out.

Though I can't say for sure it will fix your specific issue.

Thanks andr3w, request sent. If it fixes, great! If it doesn't, well, at least its updated. :D

Can explain more for this method? I heard its more mafan than activating on 2nd port. Best is if can give eg. Thanks.

Quoted from Qubicfactor for the 2 available options if one has an existing fibre broadband running and intends to switch RSP.

Actually to sum it up, there are 2 methods:

1)Fibre takeover - This method will involve terminating your existing ISP and subscribing to VQ. Is called takeover since Netlinktrust will make arrangements with both your previous ISP and VQ to take over the TP port. Cons is that you will definitely get service disruption while the takeover is in process, which may likely be anything from a few hours in the best case well coordinated scenario, or a few weeks.

2)Activate 2nd TP port - You just sign up for VQ first, and terminate your existing ISP only after VQ is up. No disruption to your internet service. Cons is that you may be paying for 2 ISPs for a month, and there is this issue of OpenNet/Netlinktrust not doing a proper TP point setup for some households in the past, with the unfortunate assumption that one household will only use one TP port. Netlinktrust will have to do extra work to activate the second port, which may result in delays in getting VQ running.

In my opinion, the second case is still better, since you have the assurance that your internet isn't cut off for an unknown length of time, which is worth the extra one month duplicate payment.

So, if my MR contract ends on 02 Mar 2015, I would need to call them up beforehand to let them know that i want to terminate and let VQ do FTO. Then, VQ and MR will work internally to do so?

Understand that internet will be down for a while.

As long as MR does not reject the FTO it will be seamless.

Only issue is that the actual date and time of the fiber patching for FTO is unpredictable :)

The issue has been narrowed down to an issue with a transit provider blocking routing from VQ.

An angry email was sent and hopefully the issue is solved today.

And also now I want to buy destiny @.@

I don't think the cable ship has reached the break yet.

Not a good week for the SMW consortium. SMW4 was also damaged and ETR for that cable ship is 9 Dec.

So the SMW3 repair will probably take some time too.

On the other hand I do not have GPS on the ships so I can't give a definite answer too.

The provider does note that bad weather may delay repairs though.

Hi all,

I switched to VQ recently, have some questions about Freedom VPN and football. =:p

1) I noticed that beinsports has been removed from the list of supported channels on the Freedom VPN page. While I can still access it, I am wondering, will access be ceasing soon? I'm thinking of getting a recurring monthly pass with them, if they will soon be removed from the supported channels, then I won't sign up, lest I be unable to access the site and cannot cancel my subscription.

2) I also browsed through the other sites supported under Freedom VPN, to see whether are there any alternatives to beinsports (the streaming quality here is sometimes not the best). I found some other candidates, like SkySports, NowTV, etc. But it would cost me a fortune to try them all. Anyone knows what's the best way to go to watch minimally BPL, FA Cup and UCL matches using Freedom VPN?

:)

It was actually because Bein had to remove some matches from live streaming earlier this year and not actually for technical reasons.

If bein reinstated those matches then we would certainly want to support it. :)

I experienced that. The first time I bought a 24 hour pass, it was fine. The second time, the match wasn't shown live even though it was in the channel guide. :(

There is a generic configuration template created specifically for ViewQwest connection in the Fibernet forum (under subscribers-only section). It may be out-dated as the configuration was done using firmware 1.3 but it should be generic enough to start you off.

Otherwise, use the 1WAN Wizard in EdgeOS 1.4 onwards.

Thanks for chipping in! I had used the 1WAN wizard in 1.6. Will test it when VQ is done later this week
