Ask the gov. And with $0.20/liter tax. It won't come close.

Add-on: Euro 2m vs euro 5, the price spent in the tech also need $$$$ ma..

Doing some Maths n u will find our net price (exclude gov tax) is not that high

Shell 95 2.0/l
After credit card discount of around 20% is around 1.6/l
Minus 7% gst = 1.495/l
Govt petrol tax is 0.40/l
So net price is around 1.1/l

So basically govt already taken 0.50/l from you

The problem right now is that petrol company are not reducing the price much due to the credit card discount.
They would rather put higher price rather than remove the credit card discount. If you observe at the cashier a lot of ppl are still paying cash or nets instead of credit card.

any breakdown of these tax? any way to see??

i simply don't understand...

The petrol excise duty in Singapore is set at a rate of $0.41 per litre for 92- and 95-octane petrol, and $0.44 per litre for petrol rated 97 octane and above. As with all other products, there is the additional seven per cent GST charge.

The CC discounts are substantial (17-20%), and can accumulate CC points some more. I wonder why locals still use cash/nets.

Can't meet the income criteria. Not everyone who pump petrol can afford a credit card.
