Dear All,

I saw a few ppl posting their individual request to help review their quotes.

I just found out HWZ admin will remove any contractor trying to publicize their services.

So this thread will be solely and strictly for existing home owners commenting on quotes for new up-coming home owners.

Cheers

Can I get some comments on this quote please?

to supply labour to lay wall tile on wall (living room) $ 12.00 psf (we are looking at around 300sqft) - reasonable? not craftstone/craftbrick.

LED light strips for undercabinet and abovecabinet lighting - is $15m per metre, $40 per LED driver reasonable?

Hi Cat,

$12 psf inclusive of tile already? normally tile is $3 - $4 psf
so labour and material cost is $8, which is within the market rate.

For LED and driver, you went directly to the shop right?
You need different size driver for different length of LED, so i just wanna ask, $40 is for your total length? or you need multiples of it?

Hello, thanks for replying.

The $12psf does not include material, and is for labour for craftbrick. Contractor says if it is normal tile e.g. 165 by 1000mm, his labour is about $8psf. ok right?

For the LED and driver, he will source - I dont really know if it is strip or tube, is one cheaper/more wuhua/better quality than another? It's for undercabinet and above cabinet lighting. For the driver, he is just charging me $40 for 1 pc of driver, the area is not huge so I suppose 1 would be enough.

So are you doing craftbrick or general wall tiles :s22: ???

anyway, i got a contractor who do $6.50 for providing labour to lay ceramic/homogeneous wall tiles (600mm X 300mm)
if you want to source for another quote for labour for craftstone, pm me

the main difference i feel for strip or tube LED, is for strip you can bend along the corner in the cabinet.
Strip have individual spots that might spoil in the long run causing "breakage" in the light

depending on your usage, not say which one more wuhua. both also ex..hahaha
unless u change to fluorescent tube

for LED, if you need driver should be using strip already, becoz normally 1 driver support 2 metres, so how many to use depend on how many strips (under/above cabinet lighting you want)
im guessing your area is >2 metres if you think he is only using 1 :s13:
i got quoted 1 driver for $35 for > 2 metres.
