Hi JK,
I just lost Internet connectivity after experiencing a sudden slowness in Internet. Wifi connected but no internet connection. Logged in immediately to check the system log and below is the log. Looks like a new message (stale reference) to me. Hope this extra info will help in ur troubleshooting. Cheers.

I had DV with cable modem (Moto SBV) last time and my N56U was solid, no d/c. Now with fibre, using AC68U, with DV on ONT, also rock solid.
What firmware version are you running on your AC68U?

i'm using merlin's latest firmware - 3.0.0.4.376.49_4

It has improved so far after i installed it over the weekend.
But i still get dropped connections throughout the day, just not as often. About once a day vs a couple of times over 2 hours previously.

Dear ankhazam,

I won't recommend you restore your setting file from older firmware.

Why don't screenshot all the configure settings?

Some code or settings will be change during firmware update, unless you are restore setting from same version of firmware.

Best regard,
JK

I find it very difficult to accept that it's not recommended to restore setting.
( If ASUS has no plan to go for Corporate Network Equipment, I believe it's fine any way )

Any way to give a benefit of doubt, I

Hard reset router to the latest firmware 3.0.0.4.378_3562
Restart Router
Configure from scratch
It took almost 1 hour to reconfigure that wasted of my time

and BOOOM
Dead loop on virtual device vlan2, fix it urgently!
, Situation get worse.

Restoring setting will give less than 20 dead loop in a 24 hour periods, total reconfiguration , give me like every 5 seconds.

Guys. Don't know why when I connect to Asus 5G, after a while will get limited connection and I need to disconnect and reconnect again.

Anyone know what is the issue?

Ok, so a short update of how the latest stable FW behaves:
0) Yes I have done a full reset
1) Yes I did manually reconfigure the router (no restore settings used)

Bugs discovered so far:
1) Still the WPS @5GHz is enabled after router reboot even though being disabled on the web panel and reported as disabled by TrendMicro --- I can still conect to the router at 5GHz using WPS.
This is a serious security breach.

Following this thread even closer now that the updated firmware was just released. Appreciate if those that are running the latest, can report back their experiences. Just a little reluctant to upgrade, rebuild, and have a list of new issues to deal with.

Lucky for you there is still no Pineapple Wifi for 5GHz!:)

I haven't been using windows for several years, but if i am not wrong, you need to make windows recognise a network drive. I dunno how to go about doing it as I don't know which version of windows you are using. I have windows 8.1 pro installed in my mac and when i tried it, it seems a little complicated.

There are youtube videos out there simplifying your search..

Also, welcome to the club. I hope ac87u doesn't disappoint you.

So u never dump the 87U in the end right ?.....

I was deciding the unit past few days ... and drop by Challenger 3 times to check out other routers.

on 29 Dec , I can count it have about 7 units of AC87U , 2 units of X6 and 4 units of WRT1900, plenty of Axtech 2400.

Yesterday I pick up the last unit of AC87U, the 2x X6 , 4x WRT all still there .

I guess the choice is very clear... :s13:

By the way I cannot find the CPU Temp in the configuration pages.... still finding... I can only see the load...
