Since it uses the Z3735F CPU, performance should be similar to my Teclast x80h. The display resolution seems higher. The processor runs smoothly in the Windows 8.1 environment. Even games from Windows store runs pretty well.

You may try websites like banggood and geekbuying to compare prices. Free shipping but be prepared to wait for about 3 weeks to receive your tablet.

I also got a set recently. Buying MIC tablets is a heng/suay affair. Their QC sucks and most people complained abt MIC stuff is cos' they are unlucky to get a set with physical defects.

My set seems to be 'heng'. Works well after the latest patch through OTA. Build quality and speed is good for its price.

After that, I flash to dual boot firmware to try its dual boot ability. Installed both android 4.4.4 custom firmware and windows 8.1. Android booted up fine and worked fine, but Windows is buggy. Got reversed screen, upside down camera, reversed touch pad and time de-synchronized. Have to fix one by one through XDA guides and workarounds.

Its a good tablet with its specs/screen, but only try out dual OS if u have patience in dealing the bugs it follows.

Nice screen, cheap with 3g. But after upgrade to 4.4.4 playstore always crashes. Need to root to get it working. Once in a while random crashes. So far so good, just cannot expect it to be as good as branded tablets

The latest OTA update firmware resolve these issues. Playstore now don't crash. Don't need to root.

But to get the most out of this tablet, this thread is great if you have the technical knowledge to attempt it.

Got the Air2. Play store doesn't work out of the box but it's ok after an OTA update.

Now need to know how to root the device to install apps on sdcard.

PlayStore Ok after update, screen display (2048 x 1536) & response really good, only set back 32GB a little small.

You are right . For dual boot , 32gb is bit small . Try to root it and move all app to sdcard .

So far, anyone encounter 'Throttling brightness due to thermal event' prompts? Is it due to overheat?

yup, encountering this issue also. Just ignore. :)

By the way, how to root the Air2? Want to transfer and install apps on an external sdcard.

Also is the glass gorilla glass (I seriously doubt so) and do we need to put on a screen protector?

How long you need before getting throttling brightness ? So far , mine don't have this problem. Want to try to see can duplicate the problem.
