SIM University of Buffalo BA vs PSB Business Studies Degree

Hi all,

I would like some advise regarding comparison between these 2 universities.
I am graduating from Diploma in IT in a local polytechnic and my gpa is 2.8 therefore I can only opt for private uni. I am going to study full time not part time. I haven't considered Kaplan as I'm looking for a general business degree and Kaplan seems to only provide specializations.

- Which is better?
- PSB local and foreign student ratio?
- Overall stress factor, which uni is more stressful?
- What are your experiences in studying at PSB Academy/SIM, regarding ratio of marks coursework/exams percentage in modules.
- Estimated cost after exemption due to diploma?

GPA 2.8 ..... can you try apply for SIT and UniSIM Full-Time as well? They have business-related courses.

Have you considered SIMGE Birmingham degrees?
- Birmingham is ranked 95 on FT in terms of MBA. 64 on QS. 148 on THE.

For the 2 choices you stated, I'm not entirely sure which one is better... Ranking wise, Buffalo is globally ranked on THE, QS and ARWU. PSB Loughborough is only globally ranked on QS. SIMGE has a recent facilities/buildings expansion to cater for UniSIM Full-Time and an experienced career services/programmes.

I guess all undergraduate studies are stressful, unless you are only aiming for a pass degree.
And what kind of exemptions are you looking for holding a non-business diploma?

Regarding exemptions, my sister studied science in poly but got 1 year exemption when she applied for University of buffalo, business administration (8 years ago). So I'm wondering if I might get the exemption as well. My IT course is business+IT, studied stuff like business information systems in there etc.

Why don't you consider SIM UOL or Kaplan UOL Royal Holloway? I think both are better choices than buffalo or loughborough.

Birmingham gpa requirement fell? I thought over time we get grade inflation. Back in 2012 min was 3, under 3 may get selected for interview

Don't be too focus on ranking, mba or phd to Bach degree not much correlation anyway. Esp with DL. No employer hire base on ranking of so SMU grads are in trouble

You should get some exemptions from UB. I think you can go to SIM's website to check their modules and the similar mods, free mods will get exempted.

SUNY vs PSB

i believe if you can get exemptions from SUNY buffalo, go for it . It is more expensive no doubt but global ranking and recognition is still much better since it is a state university in new york.

some of the courses also taught by flown in facutly from new york so u can get good exposure.
