Recommend a Wide Angle Camera for Profile Shots

Please Help recommend a camera preferably with a 35mm or sth.

Prefer semi-pro kinds to save cost. Purpose is to take pictures for company profile.

Each time we complete a project, would like to take nice wide angle "artistic shots" to publish on website.

F2.2-2.4 would be nice. Higher is fine too.

You don't operate at F2-2.4 for large number of people of shots. You use a tripod, set your aperture to F4.5-6 and keep everybody in sharp focus. F2-2.4 will be too shallow.

At small aperture, most lens will function beautifully. Spend money on an external flash with bounce light and you get even better output.

Maybe you should mention what body you are using for the community to help ?

I am working in a Audio Video Systems Integrator company. Basically, after a project of installation. I would like to take pictures of say a Grand Ballroom that does not include people usually.

Because my uncle is a wedding photographer, i always help him out as the FLASH BOY, but sometimes i do become the second photographer with his MarkII while he uses the MarkIII. So on the MarkII, group shots i usually use F2.8 and for more artistic shots, i use F2-2.2 (most of the time i use 35mm, and the 24-70mm lens).

But my company does not have that kind of budget for that kind of gear. So i guess thats why I'm asking for like a more budget version for the application i will be using it in.

Generally for interior purpose, large aperture is not very useful since you will more likely want everything in focus. A tripod in my opinion would be important to have if you want to stop down and having one is not expensive.

Not sure what body you are on, generally if you want fast and good lens, don't expect it to come cheap. If you want to improvise on existing lens and make something good from them, post processing is what you want to look into.

Hugin application is a good panorama software you will want to look into. Below is the FOV of an example of a 50mm lens on a full frame boy

Using simple stitching from the Hugin software across 18 overlapping shots, here is the output. It's both a vertical and horizontal panorama all around.

You see if it suits your needs.
