ur terminology needa brushing up. U have no clue what u are talking about.

Whips are a party's "enforcers," who typically offer inducements and threaten party members to ensure that they vote according to the official party policy.

Hence the statement of bills passing without actual consideration by the MP. Having just 7 ppl even if WP have the best whip the bills will still get passed .

Do u have a problem comprehending me or do I need to explain it further to u?

Knn. Pap dogs have no clue but to follow instructions. That's their motto :o you seen it in parliament, also here in edmw. These dogs only talk nonsense, they are simply out of touch :s22: don't understand the bread and butter issues of the commoners :s22:

is your so-called 'PAP dogs' out of touch?

or are you 'haters' too myopic short-termed view based on your personal situation?

All these talk people forget fundamentally PAP started as an opposition party. And what proving grounds they had that they can run SG?You think early PAP got 100s of LKY educated level candidates, many of them are inspired businessman, teachers,
seamstress .

And Stupid TS does not realise for PAP to keep it sovereign rights to be recognized as a nation with democratic aspiration, they need to show the world we singapore citizens are always given a choice not to vote them into power. Without the presence of opposition, we would be just be identified as another country under one party dictatorship.Stupid TS don't even have enough brain cell to evaluate the effect of zero opposition would have. All the current trade, political ,military agreement would be changed forever if there is no opposition.TS also stupid enough the first world title given to us is partially after other nations consider us as a country with a fair and democratic election process .Having an opposition is never pointless and it is necessary.
No oppositiion Unless you want to be another North Korea or China of old(Communist Era).

the problem with oppositions is that they are mostly made up of such people..

hooligans, those at the lower rungs of society..

:):):):):)

you can't win an argument by hurling vulgarities.. its all about facts.. the eyes of majority of voters are clear..

no one watch the parliamentary seating. U read the transcript available online.

Ur point on referendum is interesting as it's actually say much about the state of things in Singapore where people are actually suggesting that showing the disconnection between the MP and it's people.

Other than abstain from voting and raising of concern have any PAP MP ever voted against eg white paper, increase in gst to all item and not just luxury goods, continous funding to sme and tax rebate which have yield no result other than enriching the sme owners, the public transport bill ?

PAP barely lift the party whip when it comes to voting for a motion or a bill.

The white paper is not a bill nor is it a motion. Maybe you want to clear that up before you go all in on that.

SMEs actually provide the bulk of the jobs in Singapore. They are also predominantly operated by Singaporeans. I work in one and we make an effort to hire Singaporeans.

Public transport is moving to the new system where government will supposedly have more control. I would like to see if that pans out. The MTR in Hong Kong is profitable with fares alone and provides high reliability while running much more track and tunnel than Singapore. This one is really a case of if they can do it, why can't we? I am not even asking for Tokyo city metro standards... that would be a little too high :vijayadmin:

You must not have read the part about party whips. Don't target the voting, target the debates. They don't get a say in voting unless whip is lifted.

why are local opposition voters so fixated on this 'debt' issue? you have to realise, no modern country in the world is not 'in debt'.. when you compare debt:GDP ratio, we are pretty damn strong with robust reserves to tide us through market cycles..

you can't just say "oh you have debt so PAP must step down".. you have to compare vis a vis other developing/developed nations..

by the way.. just to set records right, i guess everyone's fine with an arguement/debate.. but it has got to be grounded by facts, not just emotional outbursts..

the one thing I do not like is that people mix up PAP's painting their opponents as bad with the idea that opposition parties are out to drag Singapore down.

PAP's language will be sharp and confrontational, they are never going to help their opponent. You help your rival?

Voters need to understand that this is more about who has better ideas to drive the nation forward. Declaring that the only way out is to vote out PAP is using the same kind of tactics and language they use.

This is why I often say that the PAP have worked the con too well. Even the opposition parties believe the con and work in that direction...
