the knock area is divided into quadrants, so its actually quite big .. definitely not 1 mm exact.

i would say 80% accuracy for me? There is a slight 0.5 - 1 sec lag to unlock the phone from the knock code screen as compared to normal knock on.

As long as you do not have secrets in your phone, there is no need to even put a security lock on it. The LG G Flex 2 knock idea is good. Another brand also following this idea.

Lol. Did they run that benchmark for one minute only or what? The #hotcurves are known to run very hot and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 will throttle in just a minute...

Does it get accidentally activated in your pocket though? I know sometimes the buttons are very 'soft' and thus easily activated. Somemore with the curvature, it seems that the rear volume and power buttons will be exposed

I think this is common in all PDAF cameras (except DSLRs), not just Korean phones like Samsung. This is because they can only expose half the sensor or something to use PDAF. Not sure about the technicalities. But I was hoping the laser detection autofocus could overtime this limitation... BTW is the laser dangerous? LIke anyhow point at people... lol.

I've never seen it activate accidentally actually. probably i always place my phone screen facing in. haha.

Think so too. Like S6 also have problems getting correct focus for close up objects in low light. almost as if they can't make out the shape. I assume laser auto focus won't have that kind of issues and theoretically can focus even in the dark. lol. It's likely a really low powered infrared laser. If it's unsafe i doubt LG will be allowed to sell their phones. :s13:

Enough on the physical form factor, bend, #hotcurves Now on benchmarking the LG G Flex 2 and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810

Not sure have it been shared before:

http://asia.pcmag.com/cell-phone-reviews/1588/news/benchmarking-the-lg-g-flex-2-and-qualcomms-snapdra

LG's G Flex 2 marks a milestone: it's the first phone with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 810 chipset, which will be the chipmaker's flagship for the first half of the year. So when we got a Korean G Flex 2 into the labs, one of the first things we did was benchmark it. The results are encouraging, especially for Web browsing.

So how about those benchmarks? They're extremely inconsistent. Browser and graphics benchmarks gave clear signals. Overall system benchmarks did not.

The 810's advantages came out in browser and graphics benchmarks. As you can see in the chart below, the G Flex 2's Browsermark score (higher is better) and Sunspider Javascript benchmark score (lower is better) were better than competing devices with different chips, although the move from Android 4.4 to Android 5.0.1 may also have played a role. The Sunspider performance, in fact, was the best I've seen, and it was the only Android device to successfully match the iPhone 6 running Safari.
the issue with this processor on LG G Flex 2 is the heat issue if not wrong

If address already I think Samsung S6 will be using it too. Or at least some version of it. The LG G Flex 2 is the first one to use this 810 CPU. Either they no choice to use it on the LG G Flex 2, knowing about the heat issue or they did not know it when they started the manufacturing of the Flex 2. Now too late even if they want to change CPU. Don't think they will use Samsung CPU.

seem like LG learn from samsung leather backcover. LG G flex 2 no such cover?

LG G Flex2 got no such cover due to the self healing back cover.

compare between Samsung leather and G4, i would say G4 is much nicer and definitely has better feel as Samsung leather is not genuine but faux leather.

Any LG phones user can comment of the unusual placement of volume and power button on the back.

- Easy to accidentally press the power button while adjusting the volume?
- Can use hardware buttons to take screenshot?
- Does the buttons interfere with placement of fingers while holding the phone in landscape with 2 hands to play game.
Not really a problem

Same here, I am still not sold on the self healing back, the bend, the hot curves. I still preferred the traditional hot 'curves' found somewhere else.:p
