The telco I go to (m1 in my case) usually don't require anything else, other than the handset and charger. Hope this helps...

For popular models, only phone and batt needed.
Those unpopular models, try to get everything ready.

starhub requested original phone, battery, charger and data cable

I traded in LG phone last Dec from starhub branch. I was asked to provide the phone, battery, original charger and original cable. As I lost the original data cable due to faulty, I had to use my family member's another LG phone data cable. Now I am looking for one LG data cable in order to trade in my family member's phone. Wonder where I can could get one.

Yes. Encounter the same with Starhub too. Original cable but rubber skin slightly demaged also cannot. Very unreasonable. How to they expect after 2 years without slight demage. Some more Starhub phone selling price os more expensive that other telco.

I trade in my Samsung Galaxy Gio with a third party USB cable and a Motorola charger. The Singtel staff who came to delivery the phone never said anything. :D

Ask the starhub staff to show you the trade in policy and the items required for trade in. According to the website, only the handset, original charger and battery are required.

http://www.starhub.com/personal/support/mobile/faq/mobile-trade-in-prices.html

Trade in value will be applicable to offset against the purchase of a new mobile phone with 2 year contract. All other GSM handsets not listed above will be given $10 trade-in value provided the GSM mobile phone must be in good working condition with handset and comes with an original charger and battery. StarHub reserves the right to reject any trade-in at our own discretion. Trade-in is available at StarHub Shops ONLY.

Normally if you keep the full box and all the stuffs inside, trade in at neighbourhood shop usually can fetch a higher price.

Just like when they sell the phone later, with full packing can sell at higher price also.

Heard this from the guy at the neighbourhood shop say one.
