Previously using 4950, all apple devices and a HTC M7 work great without facing issues like disconnection and not reconnecting back when in sleep mode or disconnection when using the phone.

However, when my mum changed her HTC M7 to samsung galaxy note 4 few days back, the disconnection issue is back. The note 4 will get DC after it entered sleep mode, and it won't connect back automatically until u turn the screen back on.

I just updated to the latest 5587 beta firmware, and apparently, the disconnection issue is gone. It works even better than before, it can stay connected (no disconnection and reconnection) throughout. It has been 4hours plus since upgrading to this firmware, and all devices are staying connected with internet access.

Hopefully no issue in days to come.

Hi, I need some help here.

Just tested the speed for my ASUS RT-N66U and the Max Wifi speed is 100+Mbps, I know this is the Max I can get from this router as it is weak in the Wifi and it is a N router so it will be slower in Lan speed as well though I am on 1GB network speed.

I have connected Cat 6 Lan cable from the RT-N66U to the Asus EA-N66 AP in my room and the Max Wifi speed is only 70+ Mbps which is slow.

Should I change the Router or AP to a AC standards in order to have faster WIFI speed?

Appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Wrong thread, you should post it in N66U thread instead, this is for AC87U.

Err… Changing either one won't give you the speed. You need a clear highway and fast car… 😁

I check out the Asus counter at challenger and the promoter also recommend me to get this router over other models, I will be getting from M1 only 289.
