is the fan header in the shroud unlike the 980ti hybrid? wanna know if we can change the fan if we wanted to. also, can the fan be controlled since it's not plugged into the mobo?

Ok the fan header is inside the shroud. It can be controlled by using Afterburner fan control. It works the same as normal GPU.

For the fan, yes you can change the fan to whatever you want.

I wouldn't touch a ref ti. Expect non ref to be at 12xx and above liao
The current 980 Ti pricings (taken from PC Themes):

Asus 980 Ti ref: $1139
MSI 980 Ti ref: $1139
Zotac 980 Ti ref: $1039
Zotac 980 Ti AMP: $1099
Gigabyte 980 Ti ref: $1080
Gigabyte 980 Ti G1: $1139
Palit GTX 980 Ti ref: $1035

Looks like Fury X all ref, so shld be $999.

Wad to do...Nvidia's milking machine in progress...wait until they finish milking consumers with their premium prices liao then they will get serious with competing with Fury X price-wise. Else it's more like FuryX totally triumphs in the pricing department.

Well I'm sure things will get interesting if amd pegged their fury x to the 980 price bracket instead of the 980 ti. It will create downward pressure to the rest of the line. Of course I doubt the ti will be affected though.

lol at the price between giga's ref and g1 card. g1 should be the no brainer choice. i think those thinking about getting the ref but go lazada already la.

The writer highlighted the lack of HDMI 2.0..... kind of controversial but in today's context 2.0 is not really needed due to lack of 4K content...

IMHO, lack of HDMI 2.0 isn't a big issue because literally all 4K monitors come with DP. Even 1440P also got display port.

Actually i needed the HDMI. Dont care whatever the version, just need 1 MINIMUM.

This is because for those whom wanna connect to AVR this is the minimum standard. At least sound can be pass through. Else GG, AMD no need to come out card to produce sound anymore.

got coil whine ?

Got is got. But minimal.

TBH every top end card will have coil whine. Just whether it is on the minimal side or very loud.

Will test it during silent hours again tonight. But rest assure, it isnt as loud as the 970 or 960 that i have.

I bought the Gigabyte g1 980 Ti at PC Themes yesterday. Absolutely 0 regrets on the purchase. After re pasting with MX4, temps during GTA V gaming session barely hit 56 degrees at 40% fan speed.
To the bro whom I had a short chat with on the Fury X vs the 980 Ti, its still the same old un-optimized driver on AMD's part that I have not considered it since the 7990 era. People keep saying wait for optimization, wait for better drivers.
I rather say just get the 980 Ti, enjoy the frequent optimized drivers from Nvidia and play your favourite games without the frustration of waiting and waiting. That alone is worth the 120-150 more dollars you are paying for.
