There you go again. You still FAIL to see what it is. No one here is talking about performance gains from what you are comparing at.

That $40 i wont pay for a blower cooler. That may not even work cooler. The performance for a stock blower vs a clc.

And i trade that for a just extra single digit frame for a noisier card.

Noise on clc? Nah i dont think so. No matter what you say blower is still much more noisier than clc.

Nevermind. Some day you will understand.

Not gonna argue.

Actually more than single digit...Fury X gets smoked once we play OC vs OC.

I thought you will eventually custom water cool mah, so i write ref. 980Ti. If not then get G1, only $100 more, or 10% more for way better value and excitement. Nvidia beating AMD for value....this is the darkest days before the dawn now!

And of the cos, it is not just about average fps, but the determining factor is frame times. Fury X has bad spikey frame times, which translates to hitches and stops in your game.

I am not trying to argue, but $999 investment for Fury X makes no sense whatsoever when 980Ti is the king around. HBM is interesting in theory but not in actual perf today. Wait for HBM2 when Nvidia intro their take on Pascal.

AMD f* it up big time, again.

I dunno how to comment on it. At that stage I dunno how to advise you on that liao.
That that video and picture throw to EVGA ask them send over a new unit.

Actually there are many things one can argue about if one really have time (instead of playing with what they have).

e.g.
Sound card internal vs external vs the need to have one

monitor 4k or 144hz..

Speakers vs speakers

the list goes on.. :s12:

Shall we start a thread dedicated to AMD vs Nvidia bashing instead?

Anyway i did a quick google Fury X vs 980 Ti, below are the most recent articles.. u all read for yourself.

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015...k-performance-but-doesnt-beat-980-ti-overall/

http://www.pcgamer.com/amd-radeon-r9-fury-x-tested-not-quite-a-980-ti-killer/

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/06/24/amd-radeon-r9-fury-x-review

thanks for the links. hope no bashing. we can all be diplomatic when making comparisons.

one part caught my attention, cos i experienced with older amd cards, which i still have btw.

For all the good AMD has done with the Fury X, there's still one niggle that cropped up in most reviews: a high frame time variance. This is a problem that has long afflicted AMD cards, causing stuttering slowdowns, despite an overall high average frame rate.

to be fair i think he has a point in stating the consistency. but of cos, there's always a better way to convey one's opinions. i won't say the Fury X is pointless. There are good things about it as u've pointed out. But from a performance pov, even being a neutral myself, i cannot help but notice the inevitable.

The ref cooler mod is not something most ppl would do. so i would leave that out. If i have to give an overall score, i would still give it to 980ti. Will be keen to hear more from other reviewers soon on the comparisons.

This exactly. We should calmly face the realities that which is a better GPU on real world use and for the money.

We shall not over eager to support the new boys, the underdogs, until we look clearly at what Fury X can offers us.

For $999, it is a solution you are overpaying for that kind of performance. It is not only me, but the sentiments around, other gamers are even more aggressively scolding AMD's failure to make good their hype, again. They just scold without pointing out the facts and figures for potential buyers.

And worse is that, all the single digit frame can make fanbois go gaga in comparisons.

Next time if I ever do benchmark I will make sure the difference of 1 fps on the graph is one inch long lol
So people can worship that extra 1--5 frames lol

This thread is NOT a AMD vs Nvidia thread. This is about Fury X. Pls don't come here KPKB. Get lost and start your own thread.

Fury X vrms are located at the back. Your spacing makes it danger of trapped overheat.

Good luck and enjoy your new $2K Furries. Do look forward to AMD continually and timely release of 4GB CFX drivers to optimise your Furries. :D

If $999 for Fury X is overpaying, then I don't know what to call for Titan X... Ripped off? Day light robbery?
