bought 2 sets from ebay; manufacturer refurbish. i5 8gb ram 128gb hdd.. about 1k sgd each include shipping and tax.. warranty transferred from usa to sg, lose about 1 mth warranty.. for adaptor just get a random laptop 3pin plug and change can already...

Wonder how reliable are refurbished sets.

laptop usually come with a recovery partition. no need for reinstall disk. (you do not have a dvd-rom drive with the machine also :s13:) but i believe you should be able to order the recovery disk from dell.

I'm not too sure; just bought the cheapest sets from highly rated seller. After I did the warranty transfer then I notice a 1 mth loss in warranty
so isit better to purchase from overseas compared to buying from SG?

manufacturer refurbish is like apple refurbish.. well to me its the same as long as I have international warranty..

I guess its much cheaper; 1699 for the base model in Singapore (new) vs 1000 from ebay (refurbish)

Mine came with the reinstall disk as well as the recovery partition. However, you won't be able to use the reinstall disk unless you bought a usb DVD drive or something like that and assuming you can boot up from usb DVD drive.
