And the first Batman movie (1989) had the largest opening weekend ever at that time as well

Actually come to think of it, Batman has used other way such as showering Supes with red sunlight (he gains his powers from our yellow sun) and other villains have used magic or mind control which superman is weak against

But I guess these methods are too out there for the movie audience
