Called and the CSO said NO.

You have to understand, Henry Ng is the CEO of ST, if CSO says NO to him, that CSO would have to pack his/her bags on the spot le.. Like that, how to say NO? Can only say YES mah..

As for you, you are just a peasant in their eyes, so it will be a flat NO for you, take it or leave it...:s13::s13::s13:

One user under one contract can only get max 1 free upgrade. For M1 i never get any free upgrade at all. I got a free Dect phone worth $68 at that time. I must wait till 21 mths to recontract to see whether got any promotion like chromebook.

No need to call one lah. If entitled, will automatically receive letter to inform u the free upgrade.

That's what happened to me previously. Anyway, don't be bothered lah. Not much difference (if any) one lah.

Those out of contract, just either wait or see whichever isp plan is more attractive then go sign up loh. ;)

Edit: I doubt this time round they are giving free upgrade to existing subscribers. Don't know.

For just surfing web and a bit video streaming, may be 100M plan is ok.
During major fair, cheapest is M1 100Mbps at $29/mth and upgrade free N router to AC56S or AC68U is available. Their router price is better than buying from PC Show.

u believe him.. :s13:

i think in May
Singtel 300Mbps -> free upgrade -> 500Mbps

then the 200 Mbps users already ask whether got free upgrade anot. Unfortunately, they don't provide free upgrade for 200Mbps to 300Mbps.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If compare with 5 isp, orange plan is the cheapest and give freebies like duct phone. But can their support got enough manpower to handle the growing subscribers is another thing u should think about in the future.

Frankly speaking, singtel does not offer great re-contract deal for its subscribers but it give 99.99% uptime with decent speed in peak hours.

Every website has their own firewall to control your access and how much bandwidth you have on their site or else the site will be down immediately. I am on both ST unlimited and M1 1Gbps. M1 has enough manpower and many of their support ride motorcycle. For M1, most of the time technical support is not required. You can even change your WAN ip by just clicking your mouse and resolve any connection issue or call 1627 and request cso to refresh your network. That's the reason why so many people sign up M1. Speed test is not accurate at all and it does not show your actual speed.

SingTel also can. They can reset on their backend. In fact, they also provide via your own PC/laptop remote access troubleshooting. Did that few years ago, when fibre still relatively new.

Not necessarily need to come down to your house to do troubleshooting. But they have the manpower. So, if u prefer or request them to come down, they will do it. Is not that, they have to come down in order to rectify all the technical issues.

Yes, all isp also can.
This service is known as remote access. For me actually i do not need support at all. My Unlimited plan and M1 1Gbps are ok now.

So u can't say most of the time M1 does not require technical support. It seems like the rest requires.

Seems like you are shooting yourself in the toe again. Keep saying Singtel will drop to 600mbos during peak hour bla bla bla. When will you ever stop giving contriditing answers???
IP doesn't matter, so long it is registered correctly as a Singapore IP address. All routes are the same for any IP under the same provider.

At first i was too lazy to look at the problem myself to do the troubleshooting. Now problem resolved. No more misunderstanding.

COD online gaming Best ISP?

Hi I am looking to sign up for a new plan and I would highly appreciate if I could get any of your help to ping a Dedicated Server being used for Call of Duty especially if you are on Singtel.

Basically, I am on VQ and my current ping to it is roughly 90ms which is quite bad seeing as the servers are in Japan.(I used to get 75+ms)

I am hoping to know which ISP has a good route to the only Dedicated Server for this game which is in Japan.

Tracing the route, I see VQ having to pass through Singtel DNS servers before it routes to China and then Japan which is kind of weird. Not to mention, VQ's ping to Singtel's server itself is roughly 37ms. Which is to be expected since they are running on different Internet Exchanges.

I have obviously given my findings to VQ. However, the current routing that I have was the best that they can do apparently.
For reference, here is my route
4 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms Singapore1.vqbn.com [132.147.112.65]
5 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms 203.208.190.241
6 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms 203.208.158.25
7 33 ms 35 ms 54 ms 203.208.178.170
8 37 ms 36 ms 35 ms 203.208.178.38
9 35 ms 36 ms 36 ms 203.208.178.5
10 35 ms 34 ms 35 ms 203.208.158.74
11 35 ms 89 ms 94 ms xe-1-1-1-0.gw2.nrt4.asianetcom.net [202.147.0.22
6]
12 87 ms 89 ms 90 ms 71.ae1.sw1.tko1.jp.scnet.net [50.31.249.110]
13 89 ms 92 ms 89 ms 71.ae1.sw1.tko1.jp.scnet.net [50.31.249.110]
14 92 ms 108 ms 98 ms br1.tyo1.gameservers.com [50.31.249.202]
15 90 ms 89 ms 92 ms 173.199.82.244.choopa.net [173.199.82.244]

Trace complete.

So I really look forward to what you guys can show in order to help me and maybe even other potential COD players to decide which ISP to go with. Thank you.

The IP address to ping is 173.199.82.244
