Air Con Stops Working Intermittently

Hey guys, while I was driving this morning, my air con just shut off completely for a couple of seconds (less than 10) before starting back up. This is probably the third time it's happening, previous occurrence was about two months back I think.

There were also two or three instances where the ducts started blowing out warm air instead of cold air, but that hasn't happened for quite some time.

What could be the issue? Hope it's nothing major.

mark cool look for ah huat. remarkably honest and professional

my only good experience. other places asked me to change compressor and other stuff. ah huat found out it was only a block valve . saved me $1000+

anyway dont immediately trust me, try google "mark cool ah huat review"

even ah huat told me his prices are not the best but competitive enough. he told me i could spend another day looking for a cheaper quote, but do i really wanna spend the time? or just pay slightly higher to solved the root problem.

Not working as in totally no air? If no air, its the blower motor. If it stops working, give them blower motor a whack or two, it will probably start agian. Bit its just temp solution. Needs replacement. Blower motor usually located at passenger side under dash.

The air supply just cut off for a few seconds and came back on. Really strange.

Haha. I go mark cool n they tell me that my fan coil spoil n need 2 days to change n cost 1300. I go back to my workshop n they just top up gas n do some flushing n my aircon is cold again. So better seek different opinion first

Haha. I go mark cool n they tell me that my fan coil spoil n need 2 days to change n cost 1300. I go back to my workshop n they just top up gas n do some flushing n my aircon is cold again. So better seek different opinion first

actually markcool has pretty mixed reviews. some good and some quite bad.
for me he quoted me cooling coil about $780. but i went to pump $30 aircon oil and works fine for the next 12 months.

My CRV had the intermittent warm/cold air problem too in the 4th year.
It's the magnetic clutch wear out in this case
Luckily under warranty at that time.
Many workshops like to take easy way out and ask you to change the whole compressor.

Not sure about the air cutting off though. Can't really remember if that was one of the symptoms. Or maybe your aircon is v v dirty inside, airflow get choked... lol

Do you always hear a tick tick tick sound especially when car idling?
That's the clutch engaging/disengaging.. and wears out fast if occur frequently.
Strangely after KM change the magnetic clutch, I don't hear the ticking anymore... maybe they change to a better one than stock.

Air con oil? Where can I do that? My air con not cold. Just blowing little cold air. Check gas not need to top up. Car left less than a year so dun wish to spend too much on parts

pump ac oil need $30? i think you kena chop. usually top up 15ml of PAG oil only and i dont think it costs $30

Have you checked with mechanic what is the issue. What are your low and high pressure readings? Those readigs are important to pinpoint on where the issue is.
After you on you engine with air con off, turn on your air con. Do you hear the compressor clutch engage? The air con fan should also turn on after awhile. If your compressor clutch keep engaging and disengaging rapidly, its low on refrigerant. If the air is blowing intermittently it is the blower motor faulty.
