That is the difference in mainstream pricing and "niche" pricing, which the Samsung SSD T1 commands.the 500gb SSD looks expensive as compared to 10x 64gb~

Samsung software is quite... facepalm. Bloated and useless.samsung software usually not so good from the time i used their Galaxy S and use their phone software. Maybe HWZ can do a short video on how the Samsung SSD T1 software been used for this promo event
you need to be cheap for majority users in order to be main stream lo even now 2.5inch SSD slowly to become boot drive but majority laptop still use normal hard diskDo you remember how many years it took thumbdrives to become mainstream? Fast SSD portable drives are still quite sometime away from becoming mainstream. Give it 2 years.
A little inconvenience for security of data on the samsung portable ssd T1. Some companies need IT admin permission to install software in pc. May cause delay if need to transfer data urgently.
Maybe can add fingerprint scanner to unlock the encryption instead of software password.
4K panel will suck all your battery juice up. Even 2K panel is already borderline useless due to the graphics processing being unable to catch up with the exponential increase in pixel count.think will have 4K panel lol since now high end all 2k already

Cheap requires time. If cost to make chip is x and mainstream price is y, then Samsung has to figure a way to make the SSD T series go down in price by x - y. Probably have to fine tune the manufacturing process.you need to be cheap for majority users in order to be main stream lo even now 2.5inch SSD slowly to become boot drive but majority laptop still use normal hard disk
That Samsung Touchwiz is a chore. Don't bother looking at Samsung mobile devices if you need a clean system. Was using Samsung devices back then and had to flash the operating system a few times because the stock is simply too slow and use too much resources. It's a hazard..Till one plus one etc came out..
I wonder how long does a SSD last if daily read/write, for hard disk no problem lasting more than 5years and above.
I think some SSD drives need internal battery or power to enable the data to be retain inside? Does this samsung SSD T1 need such battery to retain data?
No horse run. Intel wins - technically speaking, until proven with real end-user products.

I believe the workloads that require such high performance from portable SSDs may be in the case of video editing.Given the price now, don't think many ppl would buy the SSD T1 for use at work, unless it is issued by the company.
If that is the case, then the company should have installed the security software at the time the drive is issued out.
The fingerprint unlocking would be good but not many phones support that if you are using a phone for that.

They say the 3d Xpoint tech can be applied as system memory - but how long to commercial production and availability is a question still unansweredWill Intel's 3D Xpoint technology be launched in portable SSD ?
How much faster compared to the superfast Samsung SSD T1 with TurboWrite ?
Now Touchwiz is still nowhere much better. That was the Samsung Galaxy S2 era..After i abandon HTC. Moved on to other brand, never looked back. Touchwiz is an utter failure...
I have read a bad review for samsung T1 portable SSD
apparently you cannot use it as a boot drive for mac OS
so those who planning to use it to boot, do take noted
Plastic can be good. But glossy plastic is ughhhh. If Samsung wants to use plastic, own it like how Nokia did with their Lumia phones.but then again plastic is easy to crack.
lol... u desperate for the Samsung 64GB evo card is it?
see those above 300 points they can target the cards also... how to win them lol
Still not cheap enough. 256GB SSD = $110, $0.50/GB. 2TB HDD = $149, $?. Do the maths then we can really know when it will become mainstreamyou need to be cheap for majority users in order to be main stream lo even now 2.5inch SSD slowly to become boot drive but majority laptop still use normal hard disk

This one external drive leh... who uses it to boot? But then again, I do use thumbdrives to create recovery drives... Can this be used for windows then?
The Samsung T1 Portable SSD drive also uses software to initialize etc, so I am not surprised.
Do a review firstYea... Want the evo plus But then again, I am using it for a week before giving them away.
I wonder if i really receive the Samsung T1 Portable SSD, what will I do with it?
