eSATA can provide power to the samsung portable ssd like usb cable?
Nope. Still needs external power supplied. But Samsung could make a cable that incorporates both eSATA and USB2.0, eSATA being for the data transfer lanes and USB2.0 purely for power. eSATA provides exclusive data lanes for SATA data transfer, while USB3.0 requires data and power to be transmitted together. So eSATA is 'safer' than USB3.0 in terms of data transfer, but downside is requires external power.

Is there differences in term of transfer speed performance between flat and normal cable?

I don't remember reading there is, but the quality of the wiring inside and built of the external wire is always good to have made from quality materials.

Internal wire should be cooper only. The external is just sleeve to protect. Unless it's Rj45 i remember it's twisted to 'prevent signal interference'.

It's quite an awkward picture that Dr.Vijay and his team has photoshopped together though. Coz speed and torque are on opposite ends of the spectrum. In this world, when you have speed you sacrifice on torque, vice versa. Hence you see the physics behind why slow cars are more stable on negotiating bends. But the 'No Speed Limit' and 'Torque' magazine just don't seem to complement each other. Good marketing tactic on that, or Samsung T1 SSD is suggesting something along the lines of speed and torque...

Coz need to refresh lineup?

It's the same with the SSD. Samsung 850 EVO SSD fast enough alrdy wad, y still need the T1 SSD? I guess Samsung needs to pre-empt ailing HDD makers like Seagate and WD from entering the external SSD market, given that the internal SSD maerket is already saturated?

I can help to answer this though. The top 3 prizes for the Samsung portable SSD T1 likely all still available. There is a limit to the amount of points that can be earned each day, and not enough time has passed yet.

The Samsung Portable SSD T1 is actually not that new. When the contest first started i go find the news, and it was announced earlier this year. But of course I think its compact form factor is still quite unique in the market, a blend between SSD and thumb drive. But faster than traditional HDD in terms of read/write speeds because of TurboWrite.

To improve the SSD T1, USB 3.1 and wifi capabilities can be introduced.
Maybe the SSD T1 can be unlocked by using an app too instead of a using password.

Wifi is a little redundant as it will be the bottleneck. Samsung ssd will become likr samsung hdd.. :s13:
