Can't blame Cech for it. It was a sweet strike. Defence should have put a block in, instead of turning their back.

If it was Terry or Cahill, they would have dived in front of the shot, not worrying about taking a hit.

I think Cech could have done more. Like last week, he had about 2-3 seconds to sort his positioning and react. Both were poorly done.

Nervous win. Overall our attacking play was quite good. Made lot of very good chances, just missed the finishing touch.

Have to focus on improving our defence. We are giving away unnecessary goals and putting ourselves under pressure.

i think coq was gd for 2nd half of last season.. but our defensive solidity makes him look good. the only thing tat makes him better than arteta is his legs, making him more mobile and run faster. arteta has the experience and helps him in positional advantage. when he plays badly, usually is bcos he was left exposed time and again by the other mf.. just like coq in the first half. its a team game, and if any part of the team don't function well then the other part suffers.

first we don't win, fans complain cannot scrape thru games and grind out a win "like champions can". now we scrapes a win, fans wants "convincing win against a top team". palace away is never an easy place to go, every top team have a difficult game playing there. to come away with full pts is no mean feat. i think we did well. overall, defense was much improved compare to last week. and attacking wise, the passing clicks better.

Very important win. Just watch how many teams will crash at Crystal Palace. They are a top 8 quality side with great team play and menacing wingers.

Monreal and Ozil were fantastic. Coq was good too. He is a high risk high reward tackler and today just wasn't his day. Definitely need a quality cover for him.

Defensive solidity? IIRC, our defenders were protected ALOT thanks to Coq last season. He even made Cazorla a much better free-roaming midfielder.
