Go for Alvin if he's still around. Took IM last year with his guidance and got 85 for it. Very good and patient lecturer.

Due to the current result release, i failed math1 3rd time...

They wrote:
Registration ceases for Bsc Accounting and Finance , May transfer to another EMFSS degree where Math1 is not a prerequisite for a compulsory 200/300 course.

What other courses can i still register??

Can I ask during your 3 examinations, you have been taking other modules too?

MM has been getting tougher in the recent years. There are a lot of chapters to study and during lectures, you will think that it is super easy. Not until you start practicing on pyp then will you realize it is not as easy.
If you took A maths before and you're strong at it, then I will recommend you to take MM. Hope this helps!

any good lecturers to recommend for VSA? By the way, is it true that we are no longer able to see the lecturers anymore when selecting timetable for this year? meaning we are only able to see the timings, even for part time?

It is not tough, mainly calculation plus some theory. Also from the kind of marks i'm getting, I can see that the examiner is quite lenient.

some part of the qn kinda unexpected, a little different from the pyp. not sure if this will be the trend going forward...


btw, is vsa really tough? i got mixed response from friends, some barely pass not recommending it, some get 60+ said okok....

mon 0830, tues 330, weds 330 sat 330 (i think) , there is another lecturer oso teaching but is on friday. however, the above are last year schedule maybe there will be changes this year

MSM have both quantitative and qualitative.
Last year format was to answer any 4 out of 8 questions.
Normally, 3 of the questions are qualitative and 5 of the questions are quantitative mixed with maybe like 5-8 out of 25 marks of qualitative question.

VSA will be more and more tough, i rmb mr mok said in the first few lessons, the more ppl take vsa the harder it will be .

Plus the qns in the pyp are not easy take an example 2014 paper got one qn requires knowledge from FR heard in class mr mok said , but came out in VSA , is a disadvantage to those who did not take FR.
the essay qns are very tedious, mostly came out from essential textbks , one advantage is tt the qns are either copy paste from txtbk or they change the numbers in calculations qns and add in theory qns in sect A.
Thus on the first day of his class he will bring many books with the txtbks and ask students to hav it

Year 2013, but mine was part time class on sat, not sure he teaching full time or not. MSM no matter how tough it is you can still pass easily. I dono when is his class, you can check with other people if they know.
