Hi,

the hpav speed is 550~650mbps. also, are the temps 70+ to 80 normal? i think this needs a heat sink

DoUevenLift

If the HPAV speed rates is 550-650, it is only average. A decent powerline will at least hit 800+ HPAV rates which you will achieve 300Mbps approx.

If the HPAV speed rates is 1000+ and above, that will be even better.

What you can do is relocate the homeplug in the room to another socket and determine the best wall socket that gives a higher HPAV rates.

The temperature is normal, not to worry.

if my PL1800EP serial number is not within the range for the 2000mbps firmware does it mean it is already upgraded to 2000mbps?

My 500Mbps Wireless had one issue.
LAN is working fine but Wireless is not working. Wireless indicator is OFF while Data indicator is ON.
Unable to locate the default wireless SINEOJI SSID.
The above are the results after I had reset to factory default.

Please advise on the solution.

Thank you.

andyhaw1978,

When you do factory reset, insert a pin to the reset and hold it until the wireless indicator turns red. Otherwise, it has not been reset.

Go to the setup menu, 192.1689.33.1 and check if the wireless has been disabled.

PL1800E Firmware Upgrade

Dear Sinoeji,

I'm trying to perform firmware upgrade for my PL1800E that I've purchased quite sometime ago. After I have selected the PL1800_2632015.ggl file, there is a pop up window showing the following message. Is this something expected and can be ignore?

Your chip release version doesn't match the ggl file selected. Do you want to continue with the upgrade process?

Warmest regards,

Lewis Wong

Hi Sineoji,

Tried to PM you but your inbox is full.

Hi jasonttb,

Appointment is confirmed on Thursday at 730 pm.

We will setup a HomePlug Wireless Extender PL500EW and a Dual Band AC750 Wireless Extender WRE750E to determine which works best based on your current infrastructure.

Hi Lewis,

Sorry for the late response, select YES to proceed with the upgrade. Before you upgrade, you might want to check if your homeplugs are equipped with the latest firmware. Check the version, if it is 3.1.8, then you need not upgrade.

bear1sg,

That is subjected to the noise attenuation factor residing on your powerline network.

I suggest to have our support staff come over to your residence and conduct a diagnosis of your line infrastructure and determine the optimum point where the PL1800EP should be placed.

We can do it this weekend if you are available. Just let me know.

newbie001,

Here is a video to guide you through. Make sure you connect a ethernet cable from the PL500EW to your PC. Your PC wifi must be off and the main homeplug that is connected to the router must be off too.
