Coming from an iPhone 4S to 6+, personally, I am not planning to upgrade.

Am actually very proud and happy to use the iPhone 4S however, upgraded due to better WiFi / 4G-LTE capabilities.

Might upgrade when the 7S comes out or phone breaks in-between. Kind of a use-until-die / want-of-better-feature guy.

That's very strange.

Here in the U.S. AppleCare+ went from US$99 to US$129. I would have expected that in SG the new AppleCare+ would cost SG$188, not SG$228. Perhaps they are anticipating the exchange rate to go up...? But to 1.75? That's really extreme....

Apologies if I didn't get what your point(s) was/were.

What I got from your previous post was that paying $_ amount is not justifiable since you mentioned certain points in which the 16GB base model isn't going to last.

My post was to say 16GB is still manageable, though I do struggling occasionally as storage requires wise planning (like moving most data/documents access to the cloud).

None needed. I find spending that kind of money, usage experience is very important. I don't want to keep having the thought that my memory could run out at the back of my head when I'm using the phone. My son's 5S is on 32MB and often runs out of space that he can't even update his apps. So he has to delete apps to do so.
I certainly would like to have 4K videos and play graphic intensive movies/games on my spanking new iPhone 6S+ but alas, these are usually memory hungry.
To each his own so let's just enjoy the new phone, whichever model we choose.

I am actually considering getting an iPhone 6S+ at full price, then going with one of M1's mySIM plans. The higher data allowances seems quite attractive. Is it worth it? The iPhones seem more expensive than usual this year (exchange rate fluctuations?) but I am still okay with paying full price.

OT abit..I was thinking maybe I can buy from Malaysia Apple Store since the MYR is low. OMFG...their I6+ 128gb already cost about M$4k+.

Wonder how the hell the people there can afford!
