Just last week, we have $30 off $200 and before that $50 off $500 cart coupon.

If not urgent to buy, you might like to wait for better cart coupon, the current $20 off $200 cart coupon is :s22:

During National Day $50 off $500 lor. But those sellers always play cheat and mark down their base price on the listing to make a lot of coupons unusable. So sian when that happens.

Like ming ming $20 bucks you put $9.90 seriously. $1 item discount also don't let me useeee?

Actually, out of curiosity, I've seen sellers claim that timesales are not organised by them, but things like item discount coupons - do these actually cut into the seller's profit? If not why are they so jian about listing the wrong base price?

I think it's to make people click on their item cuz of the lower price. Then after that choose all the options already add up to the same as those sellers who put the real price they sell at.

Qoo10 is like that. Even back before when they were called Gmarket.

Seller ma. More unscrupulous than ebay :s22:

Stupid sellers really. Allowing buyers to use coupons will give them more sales while q0010 bears the cost.

There was once I bought the chee Cheong fun combo from Yahweh in sunshine plaza using a qoo10 sales event for 99cents. Had a chat with the owner since there was no other customer and he seems free. Basically he said the sales was done by qoo10 and sales price or not, he still gets his listed price to qoo10 minus fees and not the sales price.

According to him, qoo10 instead of spending a lot of money on paid advertising just use the discounted sales to attract customers to spend. In the end, everyone wins.

Qoo 10 has a huge cash injection a few months ago from sph so it has money to burn to build up its market size. So don't worry, just shop when the price is right and the item is what you want.

I think some vendors just use low base prices to get us to look at their offerings. Not sure as there may be something else at play here.

Sometimes I wait till the item I want is no longer discounted and use the discount coupons to buy which can be a lot cheaper. :s13:

Apart from Store discounts coupons, all discounts you get from the other coupons and time and day sales are absorbed by Qoo10.

Supposed the seller list the item as $10 but Qoo10 put it on sale at $1, the seller will still get his $10 minus Qoo10 fees.

Woah, if like that. How Qoo10 earn money? Is this a loss? What if one day Qoo10 stop giving discount and ask seller to give and seller don't give, will people stay or jump ship?

Qoo10 earn through commission sellers pay to them on every single item sold. Its works for them since the days of gmarket. So many online e-comm platforms nowadays. If qoo10 prices not attractive enough then by all means bring your wallet somewhere else lor.
