Difficult to find parts. almost all acer 4820TG and 5820TG have hinge issues.
Even to find a used casing + hinge is around $150-200 region. Will advise you trade in your unit and get a new one.![]()

if you cant fix it, can gimme the adapter?
i am still using my old 3820tg.![]()

I have already concluded that laptops aren't for gaming if you want them to last.
Eventually the large amount heat generated will destroy it even if nothing else would.
Both my 3820TG and Dell Vostro are still working fine... Even when i game with it occasionally![]()

Now I am using Lenovo G40-30.
Upgraded the touchpad to synaptics and the wifi card.
The stupid elantech touchpad had the jumpy cursor issue and the wifi was low performance.
Followed the FRU and upgraded it to Qualcomm Wireless AC and replace the touchpad now it is much much better.
Didn't go to service centre because the guy there probably won't do the touchpad for me.![]()
Just unlucky perhaps.
I rarely off my notebooks anyway. 24/7 workhorse. Not even on sleep mode.
