So as the heading states, I'm wondering any Note5 owner here in this forum encountered any blemishes or irregularities with the finishing of this gorgeous phone or other cosmetic "defects".

Personally I happened to notice a tiny spot along the metallic ring of my Note5 home button . It doesn't look like a dink or scratch but more of a spot which was left out during the finishing process.... and it's only under certain lighting conditions which makes it visible. . Other than that I'm truly happy with my device :)

There were a couple occasions where I couldn't wake it up. Maybe three times since I last bought it 2 weeks back. I'm using the fingerprint unlock system. battery life is really good though . 1% drain per hour on 4G .

Overall I'm loving it apart from that shiny speck which seems to be left out of the finishing stage. Wish I could and knew how to post pics .

Haha I got poor eyesight. Can't see any defect smaller than a mosquito. To me the phone is perfect. No sleeping issue. I'm happy with it.

Btw i just installed 'phone info'. This app can dig out lot of detail. For eg it shown that my Note 5 was manufactured on 22 Jul in Vietnam. I alao found out that there are a few counter built into the phone. There is a record on the number of charges, how many times i plug in the earphone and also pull out the pen (for pen info root is required ).

could it be the sleeping issue is caused by using fingerprint to unlock?

From my personal experience thus far with my device , the unlocking problem just happens. Those few occasions which happened , I pressed my power button to access the lockscreen but nothing would happen except that the capacitive button below would just light up . I would then try pressing the power button again and nothing happens. Finally I try the home button and the lockscreen would come on.

chose the black sapphire instead of the gold because i notice the black sapphire has a little blue purplish tint to it. The gold color looks dull in my opinion and do not have a contrast with the display. Guess ppl get it because its "gold"?

Same here with Jnashville. Chose the black sapphire but I waited out for the white and silver to be released . Even then I still chose the black . It has that awesome blue-ish tinge from certain angles and it's the perfect compliment for those really slim bezels.
Silver and gold in my opinion was too reflective

And just my two cents ; I came from an iPhone 6plus and of course I had my reservations going back to android ; especially battery life. Thus far , the battery life is great . Can probably hit 5 hours 20 mins if I allow my phone to drain till 10%.

In all I'm a very happy user! Though sometimes that tiny shiny speck still bothers but hey , I don't think any device is totally 100% perfect outta the box. If anyone were to scrutinise every part I'm sure they will still find something which isn't "perfect" to their liking :)
