I read from somewhere here mentioned that for power consumption, desktop is higher than laptop, is this true?

Im now using a ideapad laptop for just basic usage like Microsoft office (word, ppt, excel), YouTube and music, and feeling comfortable with everything for 4 years (with just 1 break down), except wanting a monitor.

struggling whether should I:

(1) Buy just a monitor, connect to current laptop, and when laptop is spoiled can buy a desktop or laptop.

(2) Just buy a desktop.

(3) Buy a Aio, but really worry the device heat up easily.

The power saved from using laptop / AIO will never make up for the extra cost

Yup the only sellable feature of laptop is portability... Desktop can also be energy-efficient as laptop depending which segment you are comparing.

Well, you should be asking yourself whether you need to use your computer outside your home (laptop), or strictly within your home (PC).

Desktop is a lot faster than laptop for less money. It is also upgradeable if you have DIY PC with standard parts. Since it is modular, you only need to change any parts that fail. Laptop if motherboard or screen fail, most likely need to buy a new one as the repair cost may not be worth it.

Get mini pc.. Intel z3735f..max tdp 4w

scare it will lag, electronics gadgets im very sensitive with it being small. Somehow or rather things are squeezed together in such a small base, gives me a perception that quality might not be up to mark.

ya the distance im sitting should be quite suotable for glaring screen.
Just take note that your mileage may vary also depending on the location and position of your monitor. i.e. Screen facing window will marr your viewing experience

well i'm using it and have 2 ..minix z64 and meegopad t02. Basically your usage is similar to mine. Both are good. The t02 is a stick whilst the z64 is bigger. If you want better quality, go for minix. I've used their products before and the build quality is there
