Yes but finance in nz?
My pal in engineering IT moved there to do environment engineering and that closed to do sales and marketing.
U may have to switch career..

Finance u can think of oil and risk management there in Alberta. Now not the best time. Still will be best to go do a short 1 yr cert to move

You mean study there for one year?

If you don't have oil experience will be hard, am edu on oil can help plus it buys u time to get a job.

If u can afford $$ to get investment visa what's 1 yr of cheap edu

Spending a year studying can be be complicated when you are married with 3 kids

Well if you net worth cad$1.6M how is it hard? Can hire ppl take care.
Setting a biz with 3 kids also not easy... Unless you thinking just pour into existing biz what need the $$. There is risk of not seeing the $ plus feed the family but at least u not hitting the books can take care of kids
Moreover it's a cert no phd, those PRC no $$ and 2 kids working on PHD getting little $ more complex

If no $1.6M but wanna move and no oil experience how to do expect company to give u a chance over who they can find there?

I'm not a entrepreneur type so probably just wanna a job. What cert are you referring to? Getting one would be sufficient to find a job and a PR?

No such thing as definite answer ie getting cert =job = pr. We are talking abt 2015, not 1960 where migration was super easy.

And u could look up the canadian economy structure to see what skills are indemand but the economy is not thr best right now.

Getting a cert buys u one yr of visa after graduation to hang to look for job. No guarantee but in these 2 yrs u are there can network to find.
Cert can be those continuing edu type or assoc program, not keeping track of programs. U have to do some research on which uni and college allows u to stay a yr or so upon graduation. Canada also cracking down on ppl abusing this route to stay.

It's timing and look at economy, bad economy even a Stanford grad will have hard time looking for job. My buddy took him 9 mths after grad to find a job and in tiny company bad $$ and benefits but recession what to do.

How many ppl here born back in 1940s and be like 20 in 1960!! Lol

Then also rough as $$ so weak, my pal family did so in 1960s left to us only to be caught and deported. When to Canada only to be ship to eu, after all the crazy incidents then land in Europe (not U.K. Or Germany) and now citizen

Firstly thanks to patryn and yuyu for the replies. Don't want to sound like someone who haven't done his research but things would have been less complicated if I'm single with less opportunity cost in term of giving my job here. Will take a look more at the cert route and discuss with my wife. But I think the first step is to have a family holiday there first

Try to dig on LinkedIn and find ppl working there and connect to understand if route is possible.

Country is too big, 2 -4 weeks cannot really say much

That's just your company... You should take adv of web2.0 social media to hunt ppl who taken the path and if they will extend the helping hand to give u insight or info.

It's not 1980 where our social circle and networking capabilities limited to who can see face to face. The net gives u the power to connect and ask to ppl. The trouble here is spend the time thinking of key words and search doing some CSI hehehe
