Wa Mr Tan no need to sleep ah? Post at 4am then 7am up already? Anyway good review man, much better than those official website reviews cos it's more identifiable to the average user on the street.

Hey, Tanks! Tanks! I sleep like I charge phone battery. Never long time, little bit snatches at a time. As long as total 7 hours a day is enough nia.

Wtf, how you get skill level 3 for Anna.

Lucky, save money for Birthday Anna `more probability' promotion, and also because I completed Halloween Card 2 for skillz ticket.

now waiting for huawei's pre-order announcement and perhaps some more reviews and feedbacks of LG V10 which i'm interested in as well...

on a side note, i noticed that you praised LG a couple of times in your post. i can't help but agree though... they are very much like the samsuck 4 ~ 5 years back after the fall of HTC, a time when they are doing all the right things.

LG is good! But their Gflex2 killed off a lot of my admiration. And nothing can beat stock google OS without skin, really, so giving up my Gflex2 for this Nexus 6P is not a difficult decision. For the buttons at the side, you learn to hold the phone either top or bottom not middle. And the rear fingerprint sensor makes for the lack of power button at the back.

And build quality, no way any phone manufacturer can beat this incredible Nexus at this price OMG. Samsung may be nice but under the glass the metal had imperfections, quite dulan.

Not according to MichaelTan's experience.
The XDA thread OP says that it is unclear how many amp it will draw at 5V from Quickcharge 2 chargers. So, my experience in line with the OP's doubt, just gave some more data.

Most Qualcomm QC2.0 chargers only got max around 2A-2.4A, so it won't 100% support Nexus 6P & 5X quick charge method, which is using 5V 3A.

My dev phone is unlocked. Fingerprint unlock works but Android pay app will not install. So don't worry it's OK. I don't know whether custom ROM will work though.

Warranty on root is gray area, but for nexus you have simple factory images for you to flash the phone back to stock if you need to claim warranty. So don't worry here.

Hi Michael,

Couple of questions.

1. Does unlocking the bootloader and/or rooting affect the fingerprint scanner in anyway? I've read previously(before the NDA) that unlocking the BL might disable fingerprint to unlock and Android Pay. Don't care about Android Pay but fingerprint to unlock is essential.

2. I know for other phones, unlocking BL and rooting essentially voids warranty. Is it the same for Nexus since it's meant to be a developer phone?

I unlock the BL and root as soon as I get a new Android phone and slap a custom ROM on it. And Nexus phones are a heaven in that case because the development is more than any other Android phone.

I am suddenly nonsensically worried. Am on reservist next week. What happens if the preorder comes out when I am in the forest!!!!

Thank you! It's been difficult to ask with anyone with the device as the reviewers all get so many questions. It was the only potential dealbreaker. Thanks again for clearing it up!

And I think it's really good that Huawei included an additional USB A to C cable. Should cover most needs eh?
