thats hard to say.

lvg got rid of top players and brought in youngsters in ajax/barca/bayern.

bayern was struggling under him as well, when he brought in muller and schweinsteiger.

Level of competition.

you are still talking about clubs that are on the very top of the pecking order in that league

Barca/Bayern/Ajax say wanna sign someone from that league, that player will land at their door...

United routinely have to pay over the odds already...

also last time and now is different. You want to win this league, then the goal threat needs to be there while being defensively solid. If we continue this goal drought (dropping Rooney or not not withstanding...) then you will see the standing of the club drop...

when u can't do nutz with the ball, your opponents will gladly let you have it and let u fall over on your own

to quote wenger - pundits are meant to be pundits.

i love paul scholes. hes my favourite player by a mile. and of all the man utd players i like him the most.

his criticism of our team is unnecessary. but hes a pundit. hes paid to say things like this to sell papers and programmes.

if you ask me, scholes, who famously doesnt do interviews and speak to the press while hes a player, can serve the club more by returning alongside butt as a youth coach.

is he a good coach? who knows. but giving the youth team a chance to train with him and see him put some passes is probably more value adding to man utd than having him sit in a studio discussing how badly the team is playing.

i'm happy with what i'm seeing this season so far, there are certain things that will not change regardless, enjoy the ride rather than having continuously wrong expectations.

if there's other clubs that draws you closer to your heart, i think itz time to move on.

like JM & LVG to the press, "its easy for you to say..."

pundits are meant to stir "SH IT" with some truths and often shut when the results are final. something like POOs can win BPL etc :s13:

what wrong expectations? that we cannot expect to smash everyone??

playing this way is not going to win you any trophies, if we have Ronaldo now, he might be able to drag the team along... but right now we do not have anything that special yet. Again I am reminded of how we rode RVP's back and kept him fit by giving him special solo training... everything was that finely poised and balanced. Only Sir Alex could have figured out that sort of thing. Any other manager will try something else and find that it blows up in their face.

if you do not have anything that special than the sum of the parts better be bigger than the whole. We had some semblance of synergy in the last 2 seasons.... either through players going off the boil or mismanagement, that semblance never seems to go further. Last season the theme was lack of pace, now it is lack of tempo.

We still have many of the players who were capable of playing precise, decisive, effective football that had the right pace and tempo. Heck, the man who was on all those teams is the current assistant manager. He can't be having ZERO input on this....

he will be at Carrington singing a different tune to Van Gaal, how can any manager even accept that kind of thing?

Fergie time is merely a description for the desire and the never say die spirit that epitomizes ALL MUFC side.

can't say the same for now.

Its insulting to say other clubs. there had only been one club for 19years.Yes I've been supporting since 96. Which is also the reason why the expectation is high.

I'm happy that you like what you see. that's great for you. It's far from enough for me.

We are not supporting spurs.

I don't think he's asking you to go and support another club.

Of course Man utd is a big club, but this is a painful period that the club has been through before.

Think of the Fortune, Djemba Djemba, Klberson years.... and that when Keane and RVN went off their rocker...

sir alex has multiple medals and is a legend at man utd.

he has however, chosen to retire and has left.

there is no more "fergie's way". no point thinking about the past.

man utd as a club should, with its fans, embrace "fergie's way" - support the manager.

anyway, fergie gave certain leeways to certain players - not unheard of. he gave special benefits to cantona, keane, ronaldo, rvp etc, because he can. he has been at the club for 20+ yrs.

did others complain? yes. ruud. and many others. he wasnt happy fergie shielded ronaldo and gave him special treatment. ruud was sold.

can lvg do the same? maybe. look at wayne. he's basically gone out to say wayne is undroppable last year.

This. Difference of cos it there was a man that makes us believe in him 'blindly'. That you know for a fact he will make things right.

I am in no way saying that LVG will not bring us there, it just look highly unlikely that's all.

Pundits are what they are. Paid to talk correct. We all can choose to buy them or not.

But as it stands, the criticism ain't wrong too. Its not as if Scholesy is sprouting nonsense and making things out of thin air isn't it?
