This D LINK DWA192 paired with Asus AC56S my GF house can achieve speed of 300mbps plus to 400mbps.

Laptop/desktop no wifi capabilities no problem. This DWA192 will enable your machine to receive wifi as long as the machine preferably has a USB 3.0 port (usually is coloured in blue) :D

Since you are using AC56S (AC1200 class) you can opt for the D LINK DWA182 (AC1200 Class) instead at $59/$69 from challenger. But if you can get DWA192 also for $59 then even better la haha.

AC56S from Asus has AC1200 technology, but DWA-192 uses AC1900... so no point to get DWA-192 cos I think cannot max the performance of DWA-192. Unless you wan upgrade your router la...

I was asking in other threads and talking about the new technology called MU-MIMO... Im being very tempted to get one of the routers with this feature but hesitating cos im very happy with my current AC3200 router.

If you are going to get a new router, I think it will make sense to get DWA-192 la... now that the $59 deal is no more... sigh... honestly, if they sell @ $79 I think also good buy but no leh... I don't see this price anywhere... hope they run some promo or bundle soon...

Routers with MU-MIMO got a few liao, but wifi adapter none of them has it yet, so no need to care about MU-MIMO yet leh.

IT Show go see see look look see last day pricing how much lo, you might get lucky :D

Well if you are using n56 router then honestly speaking any 802.11n wifi receiver will do the job, no need get all these DWA182 or DWA192.

However if the price you see between n600 receiver and ac1200 is very minimal then just get the ac1200 one, so that if you change router or go friend house etc at least your wifi receiver will not let you down :D

DWA182 is $69 from challenger and definitely cheaper during IT show

Wahh this one I not an expert in this area liao so I don't dare to to comment too much and give wrong info.

If I were to interprete your question, I am assuming the question is from the telco modem/ONT you connect to Asus N56 router.

Then using the built in wires inside your BTO it will be linked to a NEW router in your room so that the room has wifi coverage.

You are concerned if the wifi speed output by the NEW router is affected (bottlenecked) by the Asus N56 router.

Did I interprete it correctly? I am only guessing it shouldn't bottleneck the new router's wifi output speed etc because it is CAT6 cable all the way and only becomes wifi at the new router meaning the Asus N56 router's wifi performance is not inside the equation.

But any experts can advise also? I might be wrong and I also wish to learn and this is a really great question.

Thanks :D

Ya i think it should be like that (from my understanding) haha i noob on this also.

Ya cos i still yet to buy the other router, so thinkin of getting the cheaper kind or spend abit more get the better one.

Actually just wanna check anybody actually went to the source of $59 itself, aka 313 Somerset Challenger? Those who bought it will know that their set price tag and receipt are tagged with something like "Opening promo @ 313..."? ;)

Anyway, after trying USB based adapter like the Asus USB-AC56 and DWA-192, the 3*3 of the DWA-192 really no horse run. :D

Your 2nd router will be an Access Point placed in your room, connected via LAN cable to the N56, so the performance will not be limited by the N56. The N56 can route to 900+Mbps so it's a good wired router. Your wifi performance in your room will depend on your client device and your AP.

Hi can i understand as in this way, 2nd router i can get another n56 (cos it support up to 900+mbps) and my m1 fiber only 300mbps so it wont be much different even if i get the better router (ac56)?
And wifi will depend on client device (that m1 fiber?) And AP (access point?) That n56 (if i get this).
Or should i pay abit more get the ac56 for next time upgrade? Or better connection?

And for usb wifi adapter if i get this dwa192 is it a must to go with ac56 router? Or still can get the n56.

Sorry for so many qus. Cos i abit blur blur liao.
Trying to work out the budget and see which to get. Thanks again.
