Assuming you want to get to Oslo, Thai airways flies direct to Oslo but from Bangkok, so you have to fly Singapore - Bangkok - Oslo. I used to take that route before the Singapore - Helsinki via finn air. And I *think* that route is still is in use but I'm not sure which days, check the thai airways website. That's about as direct as you get if you want to get to Oslo from Singapore. From Oslo Gardemoen you can catch direct flights to Iceland, Finland, Sweden and Denmark via Norwegian air. Yup just did a check, the Singapore > Bangkok > Oslo flight still around. Pricing wise, no big difference. I will do some further comparison to see whether it suits my itinerary. Thanks for the suggestion
Not sure if you understand what is a return point-to-point, return open-jaw and multi-cities.
Multi-cities will always be more expensive.
Point-to-point is Singapore-Copenhagen-Singapore
Open-jaw is Singapore-Copenhagen // London-Singapore. You make your own way between Copenhagen to London.
Multi-cities is Singapore-Copenhagen-Oslo-London-Singapore. It's flight for all sectors.
My point is, all the airline online booking only allow 3 types of booking - Return, one way or multi-city.
Your so-called open-jaw falls under multi-city booking and it easily cost double of a return trip ticket.
If you are looking to do an open-jaw on SQ for the Scandinavian cities then of cos you won't be able to get a 'cheap' fare. SQ only only flies to CPH in the Scandinavian countries. If you do an open-jaw on SQ for any of the Scandinavian cities, it will be on other carriers. Mixed carriers will most often result in higher fares.
In short you won't be able to get a good fare for a direct flight between SG to different cities in Scandinavian as it will result in a mixed carrier reservation. There are no direct flights between SG and Oslo and SG and Srockholm. The direct flight between SG and CPH is on SQ while the direct flight between SG and Helsinki is on AY. The fare is higher as a result of a mixed carrier, not so much of an open-jaw.
If you want to do an open-jaw betweek the Scandinavian cities, better to search fares on the Scandinavian carriers. Try KLM/AF, AY, and LX.
If you really want direct flights, dont want to waste time on transit, the only cities you can fly direct from SG are, to CPH and Helsinki, with a mix of SQ and AY. They may have a interline partner fare which may only be available at the travel agencies. Not sure id they still have it, so better to check with the agents. If not, you'll have to pay the full fare for a mixed carrier ticket, SQ and Finair.

This information is what I was trying to find out.
In other words, even though those other airlines are under the same star alliance/skyteam, there won't be any cost savings when doing transit via another airline.
The flights I'm looking at are primarily from Singapore and back, not so much within Scandinavia itself because I intend use rail/ferry when moving inter-city. Only except would be Iceland Air which I will book two one-way tickets.
