Lolol. You should read the posts where Master Thomas Wong was name dropped every single time.

Anw their biz is not owned by Thomas Wong, just that he's their mentor.

Sent from the exploded Death Star using GAGT

I haven't read what SOA posted in the past, but to be fair, they were just responding and clarifying what another forummer first posted about the article for their recent post.

I've met their boss and staff. They are pretty nice people. Can't comment on the fit and construction of the shirts yet, because I haven't collected them, but during the fitting, I can see they put in a lot of effort and the sewing is very good.

Seriously, let the moderators do their job. If the posts are seen as adverts, the mods will take them down anyways. I think we should suspend judgement until we've going down to make shirts and experience lousy service there.

My 2 cents. Don't intend to start a flame war. I'm not associated with them.

Just wondering.. Anyone made a suit before at TJ custom tailor in clifford centre? How is the workmanship? I got quoted 500 by the owner for a navy blue suit. Material it puts as italian wool. Worth the money to make a suit?

What brand is the fabric?

My personal guess it is MIC wool mix instead of "Italian Wool".

At the end of the day, you have to determine if its worth your money.

Would you pay $100 for an ill-fitting suit? Would you pay 2k for a BOSS suit?
Or would you pay $1.5k for a perfectly fitting suit made of MIC wool?
The choice is yours to make.

What's your reason for requiring a suit? Are you required to wear a suit regularly? What occasions are you intending to wear your suit for?

Hi guys!

Need some help from you all! I had two suits made in Bangkok and I hate the shoulder pads! They are huge! Is there a tailor in Singapore whom is able to help with this? Perhaps remove the huge shoulder pads and replace them with smaller ones or to get rid of them completely and alter them properly to fit me?

Is this possible to salvage?

You can remove the shoulder pads, but it will most likely not sit properly on your shoulders after that.

Anything is possible with enough money.

Shoulder alterations are tricky.

I once sent my jacket to change out the shoulder pads for a smaller one at Tet Tailors. They are located at Peninsular Plaza and charge $70 for the job and the sleevehead modification if required. And $30 for just removing them without replacing.

I thought they did a pretty decent job. Still the shoulders will look dodgier as compared to before as the jacket was cut for bigger shoulder pads.

Meng Yee at Far East Plaza charge $30 for replacing shoulder pads. I felt the boss there is more experienced with business jackets, while Tet specialises in jeans.

What chickenbackside meant is that while it is possible to deconstruct the jacket and modify the shoulders to accommodate smaller shoulder pads properly, it will most likely cost more than your suit, and I believe you would have trouble looking for an alterations tailor who is competent enough and is willing to take up the job.

I would suggest you try replacing shoulder pads for one of the jackets, and compare it with the other and decide if you like the results.

Removing the shoulder pads completely is rather drastic and will cause the shoulders to collapse. Not recommended unless you think it can pull off the casual slouchy unpadded, unlined sports jacket look, it probably wouldn't look right either.

Yes, you're way more succinct than me.

Unless the suit is of immense sentimental value, or very finely made with a rare valuable fabric, it won't be worth the time, effort and money to try to go down this route.

You will probably need to know a very skilled tailor who loves you enough to want to do it for you. It won't be about money. If not, be prepared to really pay.

If you are in the East, you can consider a very old school dry cleaner, Shanghai Hin along Tanjong Katong Road. Very good value.

Otherwise i find Jeeves rather good as well. They can help you fix loose buttons too.
