Alot of small merchants like japanese restaurants and franchises like prima deli still do not like to use amex.

just go to know that AMEX charges the highest admin rate for retailers. Hence many shop owners dont like to use it.

i think u need to have good luck to be put through a good RM to waive the fee for u.

They dont have it. I called CSO to check they said call in ask RM for discussion no minimum spending for auto waiver. Amex too atas for that kinda thing. Want to use amex must pay annual fee and not all shops accept amex. Wth. Pay for service while i dont think the service really that exceptional. Always keep asking how is your day sir? Tired of hearing that. Too cliche.

An update on the annual fee for TCB card.

Statement from November 9 to December 8, 2015, entering 13th month anniversary, still did not reflect the annual fee. Is the worst over?

Made payment today. Once cleared, will ask for waiver if not i'll cancel this card.

Cut off means no annual fee charged right?

just make sure they waived and cancel the card so that it will not be bad record on your credit report

I don't know the details but Amex certainly charges retailers more than Visa & Master and that is why many smaller shops don't accept Amex.

My experience is that Amex likes to charge people for their thank you and gentle greetings. May work in US or a tipping society. I was getting a corporate green charge card and they expect me to pay $55 for quicker service. It's like ok, I need to pay you more for you to deliver your card to me to use. I separately applied for true cash back (personal use) only expecting to benefit and cancel it after a year.

Managed to get my annual fees waived.

And of course, they customer service is TOP NOTCH!!! Totally made my day.
