I think we deviated enough, let's not give him credit and go back to discussing CIEMs.

btw, any comments about the UM Legacy ?

I tried the Noble K10, JH Angie, Roxanne and Layla but seemed to like UM Legacy's signature best.

Any huge difference between the customs and universals ? And I heard UM quality for customs quite bad right ?

Bad UM custom quality should be a thing of the past. Did hear some complaints when they first started doing customs but that was years ago... Now should be on par.

UM Legacy sound signature was a "ok" or "safe" sig to me, nothing done wrong, but doesn't involve any emotions in me too.

If you like it, you can go ahead with it, so just explore around more. There are still many more customs at that price range. The immediate one that comes to mind is the A10/A12 customs.

Tried A12, the bass gave me a headache :p

I prefer a true/neutral flat sound that is warmish.

Using a W60 now :p

Personally, the Legacy is not bad sounding if I dun compare it to anything else. Once I put it against its competitors in the same bracket, its limitations starts to show, and it's not flattering. It's a good all rounder and does almost genres competently, but not nothing stands out and it doesn't quite sound flagship to me.

For its asking price, I'd personally go for Rhines Stage 7, Vision Ears VE5 or for significantly lesser cash, the ACS Encore is an absolute delight.

At the end of the day, you are the one opening wallet and the one using it. As long as you like the signature of the Legacy, then just go for it. I'd say go with the custom over the universal version though.

At the expense of offending owners of A12 here, the A12 is a huge disappointment for me. When I tried the demo some months ago, the bass was overpowering and was bleeding all over the place. I've always thought the price tag is S$1,999 but recently found it is US$1,999. Imagine my face right there.

The A10 is a much agreeable choice for me, but at the asking price, I still find it overpriced. For a neutral sig with a touch of warmth, give the ACS Evolve (triple driver) a try. I very much like the sound quality, and personally, the number of drivers really is extremely misleading. Personally for me, the more drivers and crossovers, the harder it is to tune it properly. Triple drivers like Fitear 333 and ACS Evolve really impress me, and I'd choose these 2 babies over the 64 Ears A10/12 twins in a heart beat.

Guan bro!! For the first time, we're actually agreeing on something and it's actually 2 things this time!!:s13::s13:

I also prefer the A10 to the A12 and was actually quite impressed by the A10 but ultimately I wasn't willing to pay the price for it.

My preferred sound signature is also a neutral sig with some warm in it. The famous neutral customs are the UERM (now replaced by UERR) and the Hidition NT6. I chose the NT6 over the UERM as I slightly preferred the sound signature but now I have a Hum Pristine Reference OTW to me. In addition to Guan's recommendation, I will recommend that you demo the Hum Pristine Reference too.

Haha, the Hum Pristine Reference can be tested in MS, but what about ACS Encore ?

I'm so lazy to do the ear impressions...

Yet to try the Hum Reference. Will probably drop by MS next week or so. ACS Encore is available for demo at Jaben and Music Sanctuary.

My advice to u is to try as many as u can, no need to be paiseh. U r gonna sink in a considerable wad of cash after all, be safe not sorry. =:p

Heheh! Or, as Guan22 suggested, try the ACS Encore. Organic and natural as they come... Even the FitEar 335 has been displaced. Only bettered by the Tralucent Ref1 Too with Uber Too cable. ;)

For those who treasure sound stage above all, there's the 1plus2 and uber cable combo...
