390k is doing average! :s22:

I really think people around here is another level liao...

Yar i think wat he meant is doing average among the elites nia. Not average among the entire population. Alot are having misconceptions abt average. Can safely hoot most ple here are above average already. Some even in upper class or even top class.

One friend of mine really caught my attention. She had to work part time as student since young to support herself since her family can only provide her with a shelter to stay.

She only has an average diploma degree, her estimated mean salary for the 20 years she worked is no more than 2500 sgd/mth. She is courteous & cheerful, and about to turn 35 this year. She distrust investments but she still manage to amass over 350k of networth through frugal lifestyle.

If someone from humble background with no family support or big pay check can do it, what are the excuses we have not to? More often of the time we are simply wasting too much on things we want instead of just what we need.

yeap exactly, the lifestyle and the frens we are mixing with play a major part too... i was in my ex-company where my mgr keep jioing me for drinks n *choir session*, so no choice fresh out of sch still green so have to follow mgr around.. so have been wasting money for the past few years when i decided to quickly put an end to it and move to a new job and start saving... :o

also, speaking abt stocks, pple have the false idea of 'play stocks can get rich', if i didnt even touch stocks from the beginning, i cld have even more savings now.

As a shareholder, have to agree that lifestyle is crucial. Keep away from smoking, drinking and negative people. All these are bad for health and wealth. Just focus on healthy and positive stuffs and wealth follows.

Dont think too much. The ple here are the top elites of society. Easily belong to the upperclass or the top class even though they dont realise it becos they are always having higher and higher targets an insatiable desire for financial power. As long your salary is above the median i thunk you are doing quite well already.

the people here are top elites of society lol?have u seen the salary.sg forum?they have more millionaires and multimillionaires than we have wannabes.to them having 770k is les miserable poor lol.
