So here is the question: if booking via Expedia, there are following options:

- Citi PM with 6 miles per $
- DBS Woman's for 4 miles per $ and shopback's 8% cashback.

Which one would you pick up?

agree 2nd option
just to be sure, 8% shopback cashback is for hotels ? ... cos airfares only 1% usually

Somebody here already mentioned that using link expedia within shopback and pay use Citi PM still get 6 miles (and you still get cashback).

Do it at your own risk though

haven't validated all my transactions, but so far i've received the extra miles from citi when using shopback link

FWIW I've also used this with HSBC discount code 10% (not sure where to find it, but used a google search to get it) + HSBC Advance (4 miles for online) + shopback 8%

do you think use shopback agoda link also get citi PM 6 miles/$ (not through agoda.com/citimiles) ??

If yes, then the cashback can be more than 8% since agoda via shopback can get you 10-15 SGD cashback for booking more than 50 USD

Not used agoda links before as the prices tend to be the same as expedia and I can almost always find a 10% discount code for expedia through a google search, which makes them a bit cheaper

agree but if your agoda room price between 50 USD - 100 SGD, your discount will be higher than 10% since shopback give cashback fixed 10 SGD for agoda (sometimes 15 SGD ) as long as your booking >50 USD

One good thing about expedia is their free cancellation policy is very customer friendly.
I made a lot of cancellation & re-bookings last month & their refund process was smooth & quick, even refunded the DCC charges when requested. Thumbs up !

And city did not say a word? Strange...

Either way here is the situation - either you might not get 6x miles at all when using shopback+city (you will get only cashback) or guaranteed 4x miles with using DBS card. I'd rather go with latter.

that's true. hence why I used my hsbc plus the 10% discount code instead of citi PM

i booked flight and hotel, sorry say wrongly, expedia did not charge, but additional charges reflects on CC bill, when i called in, the say its exchange rate charged by bank... i told the CSO, i booked using SGD and it reflects the amt charged in SGD how come there is a exchange rate charge, he say he did not know why :(

Guess it is cross border fee for paying in sgd but transaction processed overseas. You can go check what is the cross border fee % for the card u use

DCC charges are by the bank because Expedia charges from FRANCE but in SGD.

So additional 0.8% will be charged.

For full refunds, Expedia refund to me the full amount + DBS refund the DCC (CSO told me it's logical to refund).

For refund of DCC, stupid DBS will NOT refund because CSO said you are stupid to buy fully knowing Expedia is not from SG. KNS... What you can do is to send your statement to Expedia and tell them about your experience. They refunded me all my DCC in my previous bill. Which adds up to almost $100...

Will just book direct from Airlines and Hotels direct or Agoda.

Since Altitude still got 3miles/SGD. And no hidden TNC such as selected airlines only.

IMO, avoid expedia as far as possible.

I use shopback.sg with my Citibank PremierMiles Visa card on expedia websites for the 1% cashback for my flight bookings and so far cashback have been received in my account. Also earn the 6 miles/$ for the citibank/expedia promo. I've never gotten DCC before with Citibank PremierMiles though.

Sometimes I book from expedia.co.th cause they had a better timing for some of the flights I wanted that expedia.com.sg did not have. Of course that would mean a FCY surcharge by the bank but worth it for the better timed flights.
