big update!! everyone, thanks for all your help and advise. Super big turn of events. I was more than 90% committed to get an Elantra today. However, the car dealer was meeting another client, so we had to wait for an hour. Decided to kill some time by dropping by Honda showroom to take a look at Honda City. I always knew that Honda is more expensive but has a brand to back the price so i did not have any intention of buying or knowing the price. But the car dealer "forced" the price list onto me and that was when i found out that theres a 9k discount on City.
Surprisingly, I was impressed by its size (i always thought 1.5L cars are generally smaller than 1.6L). It was actually longer, but slightly narrower than Elantra. More leg space, bigger boot. The discount makes it same price as Elantra. Interior and exterior IMO is only average and feels slightly worse than Elantra. No hesitations, immediately asked for test drive.
Drive was slightly noisy, but other than that, everything fared better than elantra (Nice acceleration, steering feels nice). Better drive, bigger space, similar features similar price with a good brand name to boot. Cut long story short, I ended up buying the City on the spot at the same price as an Elantra.
This is a really scary move cause I did not actually do any "research" on this car at all and just bought it out of impulse since i have already decided to spend this amount on a car today. Have I made the right choice? is City indeed better than Elantra? no need try to make me feel better, I'd rather know straight up which is better, or what are the advantages/disadvantages of choosing City over Elantra.
