Hi guys,

I recently need to sell a few of my stocks to pay my school fees. However, i realise that the stock i bought years ago was not reflected in my DBS Vickers account. I read online and they said that it only be reflected in the CDP account.
I've linked my DBS Vickers with my CDP account sometime back. Do i really need a broker to be able to sell part of my shares? Or do i need to login to my CDP online account( which i haven't applied for) in order to make the transaction!
Any help is appreciated!! T.T

If your shares are in CDP, you could use any broker to sell, provided it is not a custodial type of trading account.

Does it mean if I already owe let's say "A" stocks, all i need to do is just sell at the trading place and untick contra and choose my selling price? And it will automatically deduct from my CDP? Is that how it works?

yes. check carefully how many shares u have in CDP then key in the same amount in Vickers (or less if you want to keep some), but never key in more than what you have.

if you really scared you can always just try to sell a bit first to see how it works (but you will have to waste $25 on the commission).

Lastly, are you really sure you want to be selling at this time? When it's a sea of red ? :s22:

Brokerages do not really know what you are holding in your CDP. The DBSV that you mentioned will only keep track of what you have transacted through them. If I am not wrong, the shares in question is not bought through DBSV initially?

If in doubt, check your latest CDP statement. If your DBSV account is CDP linked, just use it to sell them off.

I have used my CDP-linked DBSV to buy shares and CDP-linked Poems to sell the same shares before.

Check ur cdp statement....
If u do have the shares u can sell by dbs vickers....
If in doubt don't sell first... It will be a false sell... Can be very serious

I see! I think i know how already, which is just to sell accordingly, ensuring that i have enough in my CDP account. :) Thanks a lot.
Not the best time to sell, but the stock im currently holding is at it's peak(Thaibev) and i need to pay my school fees. Probably sell a few to struggle through this period first T.T

Thanks for all the help guys!
