killer is road tax. lol.

maintenance is slightly higher. but will take longer coz need to source for parts.

petrol same what. lol. 1 tank/week is 1 tank/week.

insurance slightly higher.

no parf rebate

with COE rebate

yah, some say cars more than 10 yr old - maintenance costs much higher

1. got cold hard cash to renew
2. dun mind higher road tax
3. insurance only 3rd party (unsure)
4. maintenance cost might escalate

above 4 points u can overcome, by all means go ahead n renew

insurance only 3rd party? will be higher?
anyone can confirm?

With B&B (1.6L) cars coming down to $80-90K, does it still work out to renew COE for 5 yrs? The current PQP shd be $53+K.

When I google on COE renewal loan. it show that speed credit offer this loan.

Any bro use them b4?

but now, i doubt u can take COE loan. and if u wanna renew in 5 year batches just because your financial abilities allow u to sustain 5 years, but must scrap. Thats what i dont understand.

If you renew cat A car, 53k now based on feb pqp

Ur parf value maybe 5 to 8k ?

Add up around 60+k. Maintanance + additional road tax. Maybe 70k.. why don't buy a kia or vezel... 90+k only. Saving not much

Unless you driving those 1.4 scirroco, you are screwed. Suddenly become cat b?

If you drive a satki cat b car, pqp is 56k now. Parf value gone assuming 18k to 20k.

Overall plus repair and road tax, add up maybe 85k. Unless you want to downgrade else it is worth keeping. The same car might cost 160k in today's market or more.

Like i heard you can get q7 for 50k or so when 1 yr left. Plus coe and potential repair maybe 120k. New q7 is ..... 240k+++

Not sure if you have already made your mind.
I have Mitsubishi lancer GLX and touchwood it is working great, but now small small issues start appearing after 8+ years of use. My engine is start Vibrating which could be annoying on each traffic light (need to remount at cost of 900$), and i am sure if i renew there would be some issue next time (i am worried about engine overall).
So just keep these points also in mind before renewing, that if it is worth to renew or just purchase a new car?

If it is not then what is the next possible outcome?
Use public transport or BUY A NEW CAR.
so everyone giving their 2 cents on what TS should do.

I am not sure

1- What is Condition of car.
2- Any major repair done.
3- Habit of car (frequent brake down, or smooth ride).
4- Petrol consumption.
So my advice would be look at all possibilities and decide wisely.
GL to TS.

Feb 16, Cat A PQP $49K, while COE $43K. Is it still worth to renew (Cat A) for 5 years?
