anyone know if its possible to recontract on the dual 200 plan, but only use the 100 cable?

one of my houses is landed and singtel underground is choked, and i trying not to lay surface over the driveway

dual 200 is still available.
If you recontract, they don't really care whether you use the fibre or not, as long as you keep up with the bills. :D

Hi all,

same 30 mbps situation as all and contract due in April 2016. Currently looking at dual broadband.

When you did guys get your offer "recontract" to fiber letters?

does it offer better benefits or goodies? If you look at the SH fiber 200 mbps dual broad site, it is already at $39+

The fiber 200 mbps currently comes with either 1 wireless router or 1 voice enabled modem. If I am interested in both wireless and VOIP voice calls. is it possible?

FTP->ONT->wireless router---???? voice?

If its the same, should I just go online and recontract as I have not received the letter.

Those with 25mbps cable should get something like the letter below, else call 1633 or go for other ISP like uncle168 :

I spoke to the sales too.... but the attitude was a bit like 'take it or leave' kind. No vouchers. And i still have to pay the months they auto-upgrade my cable broadband to 100mbps. :s39:

I see, but why you want to take on M1 Fibre but not the Fibre of Dual Broadband 200? Just curious :)

Must make sure you install the FTP else cannot justified to IDA to earn the one-time grant ;)

dual broadband is only useful if u live in a big house

cable broadband also branch out from fibre nodes

u can also relocate cable broadband easily as the connection follow the modemn

but starfug choose to switch customer to fibre to earn the one time grant from the government

the cable network was starfug economic moat but the short sighted ceo threw it away for short term profit

fibre is perfect competition as anyone can sell fibre

I'm not sure, just quoted the post by uncle168 but I do believe that the Telcos are granted some sort of incentive, else why should ST (who own ADSL infracture) & SH (who own Cable infrastructure) promote Fibre BB instead of what they already owned & in full control ?

the government pay the telco money to meet fibre quota

this is to prevent the $1b fibre network become white elephant like the sports hub

Just terminated my 25 mbps, and I need to return the TV setup box which they gave given it free 2 years ago? Can I just ignore it?
