Based on this video :

Seems like maybe able to fix it with replacing the TCON board.

This TV model is Sony KDL-46EX520.

The TCON cost $20

Can anybody help confirm that this problem can be resolved by replacing TCON board?
Hard to say. Only proper troubleshooting will tell what is actually wrong and whether it is worth fixing. TCON is a likely candidate though, so is the mainboard, scalar PCBs and flex cables.

Tech came and told me it is LED screen spoilt. Tech has a machine to do the check. Now checking the TV whether spoilt is just use a machine to check so advanced.

Nothing special.

I have a LG OLED 55eg910t. Yesterday it just blackout and cannot switch on after. Tried to unplug for a day and it still cannot be switched on. There is a red light so there should be power. When press the on/off button on the remote, there is a clicking sound like being switch on, the red light is off but a few sec later there is nothing and the red light is on again. Sometimes when press the on/off button, there might be flash of red/white lights/lines on the screen else it is mostly black.

Anyone has encountered this and know what is the problem?

My LG 46 inch TV just screen blacked out but got sound. Upon googling, this is backlight issue. Some people can DIY, but I don’t have the know how. Normally such issue, worth to call for repair. Bought in 2017 so only 4 years old.

Yes, looks like LED backlight issue. If you call LG, they will probably tell you not worth to repair as they don't change backlight but the whole panel.

Backlight can be purchased from TaoBao or Aliexpress. So you either has to try yourself using some DIY video from Youtube or find someone willing to help and give it a try.

Is there a LG agent? I called up their service centre and was quoted $170+ for service then parts charged separately. When i described my problem to the cso, she said they don’t change parts but will change the whole panel. Costs? $1k plus. Lol.

Quite expected as this is usually the way handle repair work. Just replace by assembly.

Yes, I called a few days later to describe the issues and they mentioned is faulty panel. They quoted about $1k for the replacement. With tht replacement fee, i rather buy a new TV. Somehow need a few calls to see if they telling the same things :(

Saw online can buy new for 1k.... in that case, only worth to DIY.
Do visual inspection and continuity test first, it may be loose connection as you said flickering.
Maybe will consider opening the back cover to take a look when free
