I have a Samsung 55" Q7F. Warranty ended on 17 April 2021.
It has flickering issue since March. But somehow it worked again after some troubleshooting.
In mid March, i wasn't able to turn on the TV, there is red light flashing but the TV just could not turn on. Before technician could come down, TV just recovered the following day. (Can turn on, no flickering at all)
25 April flickering starts again, and yesterday i couldn't turn on the tv again.

Any idea what is wrong ar? Now i worried about the charges since warranty ended. Told the customer support that issue has occurred before warranty ended, but she asked me to inform the technician and see what he says...

Hello all,

Having a Sony Bravia KD-65X9300C. (65 Inch)

Yesterday the TV was working fine. Once I on the TV moments ago, it all turned into vertical strips.

Please advise as I'm not that good with TV. I'm sure its some display issue as the vertical strip changes colour along with the sound at the back. When I shut down the TV and on it again, the black part remains black, those part where there should be android tv words turning while loading, the whole vertical strips starts changing in coour.

Any idea if the TV display is gone for good or is there chance for fixing? Will the repair cost be worth it as compared to getting a brand new 65 Inch TV from say Xiaomi or Prism (<$1000)?

Hi, I have a Samsung UA55KU6000 which suddenly starting acting up like in the picture below (left side darkened / fading out (but subtitles still visible) with green horizontal lines). Now there is no more picture but the backlight and sound still work. I have popped it open and the power board and mainboard dont seem to have any burned out parts. I don't see a separate TCON board so I think its merged with the main board.

I sent the video to a local repair dude who thinks its a screen panel problem but the amount he wants to charge for repair is about the same as buying a used functional similar TV or a new less known brand. Is there any way to fix this myself or should I just sell off the parts?

TY!

Hi my 3.5 years Sony TV KD-55X8000E spoilt today. We were watching Netflix halfway and the images suddenly went off (suddenly filled with pixels over the whole screen and screen flashing but not a black screen) despite the audio is still working. I contacted Sony relating to it and followed their steps to conduct a hard reset but to no avail. Any idea if any other 3rd party technician can fix this? Sony quoted me saying that it may be a panel issue but can only confirm upon assessment. However, the panel itself will cost 1k excluding assessment fee of 50+, labour fee 150 and transportation 20. The tv itself cost near to 2k and if it is a panel issue I’m paying more than half of the cost to fixed it which doesn’t really makes sense.

Exactly the same issue with my Sony KD-55X8000E bought slightly over 3 years ago. Bought it in an IT fair hourly sale, did you buy via same channel too? Suspect they sold refurbished set at a slight discount, because i think Sony quality not suppose to be that bad. Contacted Sony and was quoted around SGD800 for repair exclude labor, damn!

To all Sifus here, please advise how to solve this problem or recommend any 3rd party can repair at cheaper price. Sony quality and charges is a rip off.

Please help both of us

I bought mine from gain city. Not sure if mine was on sale because I bought it at around 1.9k back then since this model was still considered quite new at that point of time (maybe second newest model as 8500 or 9000 just released back then). Didn’t expect it to last for only three years since the older TVs we had all lasted for nearly a decade or more. Or it’s just the current android/ smart tv are more prone to defects?

Is it due to burn in issue? My 2017 OLED has burn in and out of warranty. LG quoted me 170 to send the technician to my house.... i declined since they probably gonna quote some crazy amount to replace the panel

Looks like a LCD panel issue. Is costly to replace if not under warranty.

Hi all,

As posted earlier, I was still watching my TV earlier today until it froze, now cannot power on. Selling this TV for parts, as I will buy a new and bigger one. Make your best offer, you can probably repair or use parts. Model LG 55EG910T OLED TV. Kindly message me if interested. Thanks.

Nothing against QLED, my preference is OLED TV. Thanks.

Is buying extended warranty for 4th/5th year recommended?
Not sure if extended warranty will cover if the screen has burnt in mark? Better check before signing up. As this is kind of insurance looks alike. The 'insurance" price is directly proportional of TV price.

Some same easy to claim, some has great difficulty.

Shld I repair my TV??

I got a 3 yrs old 55" LG TV and recently the screen keep flickering.. Is it worth repairing? Was quoted about $400 from LG agent. Or anyone know any repair service at cheaper price than agent? TIA

My last LG TV also failed 40 days after 3yrs warranty expired.

Ever since then, I just buy cheap TV liao.

So I bought a SkyWorth 42" LED TV and a Xiaomi Mi TV2 55 inch 4K TV around Aug 2015.

Till date but TV are still going strong.
